Yup. It’s finally happening. Our beloved studio is closing. The building was sold and we will be moving out. Thurman Street Studios has been a stalwart in the community since the 1960’s. Please bid us adieu for our final sale SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 17 from 10-3! We are all very sad but we will be HAPPY to see you all at our blow out clearance! ❤️

Ding ding. We have a new doorbell for covid friendly shopping! We might not have regular business hours, but give a ring to see if someone is in the back so you can check out all the goodies in the front gallery! Appointments are also welcome! Who knows? You might find the perfect gift!

This past weekend would have marked the 40th anniversary of the Oregon Potter’s Association Ceramic Showcase at the Convention Center which I’ve been a member of for the past 30 years! Had the sale taken place, today I would be recovering from a fun filled weekend of catching up with loyal customers, friends and fellow potters. But instead, I am sitting in front of my computer updating my Etsy site!
It’s taken me a while to return to the studio, but I’m starting to hatch new ideas and create a new studio routine. Slow and steady. That’s my mantra.
My studio has always been a place to work in a supportive artist community with customers, neighborhood folk and passers by visiting the maze of studios behind the retail shop. I welcome the day that we can open up our spaces again, but until then, I thought I’d invite you to visit my virtual shop on Etsy.
This is not a full representation of my work, but I will be trying to update the shop regularly. And RBG is alive and well….always drinking to her health!
For neighborhood folks who are walking on Thurman… if you see something in the display window that is of interest, please don’t hesitate to contact me! I’m much better at documenting my work on Instagram, so if there is something that appeals to you on that platform, please inquire!

Home to designers, craftsman and artists, Thurman Street Studios is a rare shopping experience, with ceramics at its heart. Art lovers can enter through the front shop, Via Raíz, dedicated to modern Mexican craft. Strolling back to the workshops, you’ll discover more beautiful designs, watch pieces being made and meet the artists behind the work.
Sited on a tree-lined street leading to Forest Park, the studios are a short walk from the cafes and coffeeshops of NW 23rd Avenue.
Open Wed through Sunday, the public is always welcome to browse the studios. New work appears daily. Come discover your next favorite piece of art!
