Born in 1954 in Mumbai, India, Kapoor came to Britain to study at the Hornsey College of Art (1973-77) and Chelsea School of Art and Design (1977-78). He has exhibited in the world’s leading museums and galleries in London, New York, Delhi, Paris, Istanbul, Berlin, Ottawa, Madrid, Sydney, Italy, and more. He represented Britain at the 44th Venice Biennale in 1990 where he was awarded the Premio Duemila Prize and he won the Turner Prize the following year in 1991. In 2013, Kapoor was awarded a Knighthood for services to the visual arts. He lives and works in London and Venice, Italy.

While most well-known for his sculpture, we are thrilled to be hosting a survey of Kapoor’s extensive printmaking practice! Visit the JSMA at PSU to see the nearly 150 prints on view in Anish Kapoor: Dissolving Margins from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation.

Doors are officially open for the JSMA at PSU’s newest exhibition, Anish Kapoor: Dissolving Margins, from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation!

Curated by Ryan Hardesty, this bold and expansive exhibition explores nearly four decades of Kapoor’s printmaking practice and is the artist’s first retrospective survey dedicated to this collaborative and often technical practice.

These extraordinary works on paper offer a compelling, yet unexamined perspective on Kapoor’s interest in sight and perception.

This exhibition will be on view through December 5, 2026!

We’re just two days away from the opening of Anish Kapoor: Dissolving Margins, from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation! For opening weekend, we are hosting a Family Day at the JSMA at PSU!

Join us for an extra monthly Storytime at the PSU Farmers Market in the Park Blocks. We’ll also have coloring, crafts, face painting, and activity books available inside the museum!

The JSMA at PSU is proud to present Anish Kapoor: Dissolving Margins, from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation! This exhibition will open on August 28 and be on view through December 5.

Want to travel but overwhelmed about where to start? We know who you can call!

You are invited to two participatory performances of Simeen Anjum’s (MFA ‘26) Public Agency of Travel Planning for the Overwhelmed at the JSMA at PSU.

This fictional travel agency explores the complexities of visa navigation, borders, and immigration systems. Find out about the performances below 👇

1️⃣ May 29, 3-4 PM
2️⃣ May 30, 1 -2 PM

Visitors will be invited to fill out application forms and engage in improvised, mock visa interviews with the artist.
