“X” by Alistair McDowall features some big surprises, revelations, and even a couple jump scares. There are a number of moments in the play we wanted to keep secret up to this point in the name of preserving the surprise and avoiding spoilers. Now that the show has closed, we’d like to share some photos from these moments with you now.

Thanks again to everyone who joined us for “X”—and thank you to Owen Carey for capturing the production so beautifully!

Alistair McDowall’s “X” took its final bow yesterday, putting a bookend on the Main Stage shows in our 20th Anniversary Season. Congratulations to the entire artistic team on putting together a stunning, surprising, disquieting, unnerving, and deeply moving production—and thank you to all who joined us in the audience, sometimes more than once, to experience the show.

It’s hard to believe we are wrapping up our 20th Anniversary Season! It’s been a truly remarkable year. Thank you for being with us for it all, and we can’t wait for what’s next.

Third Rail’s partnership with PAM CUT’s Tomorrow Theater, a 247 seat movie house on SE Division St., continues in a couple weeks with a screening of the beloved NT Live title “The Audience.” Tickets are available now for the screening on Wednesday, June 17 at 7:00 pm: https://third-rail-rep.my.salesforce-sites.com/ticket/ #/events/a0SUv000000oohZMAQ

Starring Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II, Peter Morgan’s “The Audience” was captured live from London’s West End in 2013 and went on to become one of the most-watched NT Live productions—and served as the basis for the Netflix phenomenon “The Crown.”

ABOUT THE SHOW:
For 60 years, Queen Elizabeth II met with each of her 12 prime ministers in a private weekly meeting. This meeting is known as The Audience. From Winston Churchill to Margaret Thatcher and David Cameron, the Queen advised her prime ministers on matters both public and personal. Through these private audiences, we see glimpses of the woman behind the crown and witness the moments that shaped a monarch.

“This show demands your full engagement. Like the crew on that station, you won’t make it out unscathed, and you will probably find yourself still processing it days later.” –Krista Garver writing for BroadwayWorld

X is not the type of show you sit back and enjoy. It will put you on edge, drag you into dark places, and leave you thinking for days. If you're the kind of theatergoer who considers that a feature rather than a bug, this one's for you.
