To kick of Sci-fi July, we're starting with legendary Russian filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky’s brilliantly original science-fiction epic, SOLARIS (1972), challenges our conceptions about love, truth, and humanity itself.

Ground control has been receiving mysterious transmissions from the three remaining residents of the Solaris space station. When cosmonaut and psychologist Kris Kelvin is dispatched to investigate, he experiences the same strange phenomena that afflict the Solaris crew, sending him on a voyage into the darkest recesses of his consciousness.

SOLARIS comes to the Clinton Thursday, July 9th at 7:00 PM.

Setting out to depict the dynamics of a q***r relationship with empathy and complexity on the cusp of the 1997 handover of Hong Kong—when the country’s LGBT community suddenly faced an uncertain future—Wong crafts a feverish look at the life cycle of a love affair that’s by turns devastating and deliriously romantic. Shot by ace cinematographer Christopher Doyle in both luminous monochrome and luscious saturated color, HAPPY TOGETHER is an intoxicating exploration of displacement and desire that swoons with the ache and exhilaration of love at its heart-tearing extremes.

Screening Tuesday, June 30th at 7:00 PM.

A BLACKBOX STORY screens this evening at 6:30 PM.

Set entirely within a theater, the film follows an actor preparing for a role, only to encounter a mysterious figure who begins to dismantle his sense of identity, performance, and reality.

Blending elements of stagecraft, psychological horror, and visual symbolism, A Blackbox Story transforms the theater into a living, breathing mind—where performance becomes ritual, and ritual becomes something far more dangerous.
