The Truth Behind 456 N State St: A Message of Gemini Grit

To the Lake Oswego Community and our loyal patrons,
They say grit is the passion and endurance to achieve long-term goals despite obstacles. For the last two years, Gemini Bar & Grill LLC has been defined by that very grit.
Today, I am making a piece of our history public record. As the attached legal documents from the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC) prove, the ownership of Gemini Bar & Grill was legally and officially sold to me in July 2023.

The Timeline of the Truth:
July 2023: I became the 100% owner and Sole Managing Member of the Gemini.
Sean Casey (aka) “The Landlord” was officially removed from the business 100%.
May 8, 2024: Despite this legal sale and my 30-year career in this industry, we were subjected to an illegal eviction—a "rug pull" that attempted to strip the community of its longest-standing music venue. Every investment and all improvements were 100% financed through my personal ownership, not to mention the sudden halt that derailed so many lives in the process.

The Aftermath: "The Gemini/Cut Supper Club" was launched in our space. It was never Gemini. It never held the right to our name, our equipment, or our 100% owner-led legacy. This only created major confusion. Here we are in May of 2026, and the ongoing confusion remains to ruin our name
Now, history is repeating itself. As the building owner attempts another "rug pull" on the current occupants and lists the property for sale, it is clear that a pattern of fraudulent and unethical behavior continues.
We have remained quiet to let the legal due process run its course, but we will not allow the "goodwill" of the Gemini name to be tarnished by a landlord’s actions. Gemini Bar & Grill LLC is alive, it is resilient, and it belongs to the community—not the building.
We are looking forward to 2026 and beyond, where the real Gem will shine again, built on a foundation of integrity, music, and sheer grit.

DEAR LAKE OSWEGO & THE GREATER PORTLAND METRO AREA

You may have noticed that our old location is still wearing some of our 'Gemini' clothes. It’s a very unflattering infringement of our brand tribute and, it’s important for our music community to know the truth: The Cut Supper Club IS NOT Gemini Bar & Grill (nor is it) Gemini Bar & Grill LLC.

Its use of the name is illegal and is the source of litigation at this current time. This has been extremely difficult, painful and expensive to watch play out, while enduring an ongoing active litigation process. Patience is not easy.

The Cut Supper Club is not in any way affiliated with the Gemini Bar & Grill. It exists purely because we filed a lawsuit against the owners for trade dress and trademark infringement (among other claims).

The point of this Public Announcement however, is to clear up any confusion with the use of our Tradedressing, Trademarks, goodwill and reputation in the community, and the ongoing notifications we get on our social media related to “The Cut”. This sustained and continued misuse of the Gemini is misleading and confusing to the community and The Cut’s continued leaching off of our name and history is illegal and (in our opinion) an insult to the community it claims to curry favor with. I’ve been around for 20 years.

A brand isn't just a sign or a logo. It’s not just a name. It’s the 20+ years of solid booking, the music, community, standard of sound, and the genuine commitment to 'Prophecy over Profit.'

The Stage and Production Equipment belong to Gemini Bar & Grill, and are currently held hostage by The Cut while litigation plays out, along with other things that do not belong to them. This is a sad and unfortunate truth to share.

Don’t get it twisted folks. There is already enough smoke & mirrors in our world today to confuse us for a lifetime.

Consider this statement a simple “check in” with our Beloved Live Music Community & all those who support it.
