Throwing it back to 2019 to show you all my very FIRST artwork that really clicked with the style that I have created for my art. This was the first piece where I experimented with combining rug techniques, needle felting, and other textile elements all in one piece. (All by hand - no tufting gun!)
In a way, I felt like I was breaking the rules by using so many techniques in one piece, and creating in such an intuitive manner, but in the end it made so much sense. I also created this piece modularly, as I had a tiny punch needle frame to work on, but this method became a way that I have continued to create, even though I have a huge frame now! It’s like putting together a puzzle, and the artwork can adapt and change for whatever environment it is exhibited in. (Swipe through to see the many ways I combined the pieces to create new installations)
When my job ended due to COVID, I took the installation apart, started my own website, and sold each piece individually as my first collection. This was the start of me becoming a full time artist and I never looked back!
A huge shoutout to everyone who has been here since the beginning, and for those that continue to support my journey!

I’ll continue to share some old projects so that they won’t be forgotten, they’ve been inspiring and pushing me to keep going lately 🙌
