The rose garden flash waltz open band. Aug, 9, 2026. Sunday, Aug. 9th, The Peninsula Park Rose Garden Flash Waltz was wonderful! We had a big shady area and a cool rose scented breeze. Our band played lovely waltz tunes and folks waltzed thru the garden surrounded by roses. It was a large commuity event. I am very thankful for my planning partner Marion and for around 280 talented Musicians who played 216 Waltz tunes over the last 12 years. Last but certainly not least, many thanks to the Hundreds of dancers and to the audience who have joined us over the years. I organize the event but

Flash Waltz in the Portland Peninsula Park Rose Garden is happening - Aug 9, 5pm
The 12th and final Annual Flash Waltz will be this Sunday in the lovely Portland Peninsula Park Rose Garden.

This fun community event is free and open to everyone who would like to play/dance and enjoy the ambiance of a cool breeze, shady grass lanes, fragrant roses and beautiful music.
Join The Peninsula Park Rose Garden Flash Waltz Band for this free, one-of-a-kind Portland Community event.
Here are the details:
The 90 minute Flash Waltz will be in the Northwest corner of The Portland Peninsula Park Rose Garden, near the rose garden stair entrance, across the street from 6103 N. Albina Ave.
On Sunday, August 9, dancing starts promptly at 5:00 pm.

Musicians:
Try to find a parking spot and be setting up in the garden@ 4:15 pm. Bring a chair, music stand and wind clips for sheet music.

Hello Friends. Last night was the last rehearsal for our 12th and LAST Portland Peninsula Park Rose Garden Flash Waltz. 18 musicians attended the rehearsal and there will probably be twenty something playing in the rose garden when the music starts August 9th at 5pm. This new tune is Keevin Keagan,s and the Band did a lovely job of playing it. I feel blessed to know so many wonderful people in Portand who dance and play music. Thank You Syd!
