Alright y’all, we’ve been dealing with some real curveballs here. We’re still figuring out if we’ll be able to host a couple final shows. ‼️ That being said, pencil in Saturday + Sunday for some ripper live bands. They’ve been on standby while we figure this all out. Trust me, you don’t want to miss these. We’ll announce the lineups later today once we get the green light. Phew, we’re exhausted. Closing a venue is tough. Please support us however you can because it’s also *expensive*. There’s a gofundme in our bio if you can throw a few bucks. It all helps. ✌️

Also, reach out if you or someone you know is interested in taking over the space. It’s gorgeous + turnkey. Email [email protected]

Thanks for for the kind words ♥️ It is SO hard to say farewell to y’all. We built something special and it was all because of you. Tonight we host ’s album release party. Friday we have .pdx + Saturday we party at the final Lollipop edition.

We putting the bows on some absolutely incredible goodbye shows. Those will run Wednesday the 19th and conclude Sunday the 23rd (our final night). Check out lollipopshoppe.com + our socials for updates. Some bills still have slots available so DM us if yr band might be interested.

Lastly, one of the reasons we’re shuttering is because of extreme increases to costs. Last year our insurance shot to $5k without incident or a claim. We’re trying to raise some funds to offset some of these costs. The final shows will be benefit shows + there’s a GoFundMe in the bio if you’d like to help there. 🙏

Link to Mercury article in bio.

Help us say goodbye properly. 🤘

🪩Join us for one of the final installments of Lose Yr Mind’s FREE series, MONDAY NIGHT LIVE. This week we welcome Dadweed, an acoustic trio based out of Portland, who’s reimagining pickin’ and thumpin’ by blending elements of jazz/folk/pop/R&B within a traditional bluegrass lens. Their sets explore a wide variety of styles and dynamics – with a focus on improvisation – showcasing both covers and originals. They are joined by the talented Mary Eliza.
🎤Karaoke after the set!

🪩Join us for one of our last installments of Lose Yr Mind’s FREE series, MONDAY NIGHT LIVE. This week we welcome El Khat! While honing their sound in DIY garages and warehouses and experimenting with self-made instruments as an expression of a minimalist life philosophy, they remain loyal to traditional Yemeni percussive roots. The constant divisions created by war and migration have given rise to a reassembled identity, one that resonates strongly throughout El Khat’s music. They are joined by Portland rockers, Nug.

✨Touching on respected, familiar genres and sounds while attempting to advance one’s own isn’t easy but No Joy’s new LP, Bugland, manages to. What genre is it anyway? Is it even shoegaze when it could live happily on a shelf next to Boards of Canada and Autechre? The right answer is ‘yes’. What a lovely shelf ‘twould be as well. A marble shelf, with cyberpunk elements. She is joined by Shaki Tavi and Death Doula.

Thanks for all the support folks. It’s far from an easy decision to close our doors, but it’s necessary. Financial stress has taken a toll on our mental health and ends aren’t meeting. We’re working on a series of farewell shows mid November. These shows will only be possible if we have the funds to cover operating costs. Please consider donating to our go fund me (link in bio) so we can have our swan song.

It’s with a heavy heart that we announce that Lollipop Shoppe will be closing around Thanksgiving. Like a lot of small businesses, we’ve been struggling to make ends meet as operating costs continue to rise. We put every part of us into this venue + it’s hard to say goodbye, but we need to restore our personal + financial balance.

There have been many incredible moments in the three years we’ve been in operation and we hope you’ll join us for a few more before our final curtain call.

This week we’ll be announcing a series of farewell shows featuring some of our favorite artists. You can help make these final shows possible by donating to the GoFundMe in our bio. This money will be used to help cover some of the costs of these shows. It’s been an honor to host so many of you + we hope to see you over these next few weeks.

We’ll be operating with limited hours and only opening at 7p on event days. Please check our website for a current list of upcoming events.
