Southern Thunder Fireworks come see us We are Larry and Tricia (Abbott) Brown, we are the new owners of Southern Thunder Fireworks, which has been in Larry's family for over 47 years.

Jim Sliger and Larry Brown (Larry's Dad) started in the fireworks business in Dunkirk, Indiana in 1977 on North Street. Over the years the business has had several different names, but for the past 30 years it has been Southern Thunder Fireworks. Formerly, owned and operated by Jim and Kathy Sliger. We will remain at the same location, 227 W. Water St., Portland, Indiana. In 2023, Jim passed away

leaving us to keep the family tradition alive. We look forward to serving you with all of your fireworks needs, small or large. We take great pride in offering our community the largest selection and the best deals on fireworks. We also look forward to serving our community by providing special events and sponsorships.

We at Southern Thunder Fireworks are getting excited for the 250th Birthday of the USA. We have been working hard remodeling the store and going to events to bring ya'll some new and exciting 250th items. We will be open May 23,24 &25th 9a-7p for Memorial Day Weekend.
Then we will reopen for the 4th July season starting June 1st through July 5th. Hours will start at 9a-7p and extend throughout the month. We have some awesome plans and giveaways that we're working on. Stay tuned and can't wait to see everyone again this year.
