I’m finally really *reaally* ready for this. Although I’ll still have access to META through my work I’m so excited to free myself from the burden of creating content for my art practice. It’s felt forced and confining for some time now, and I’m looking forward to a little glimmer of freedom from that.

Other things that will be nice: no ads, no suggested content, no trolling, no endless dive into inflammatory content, no AI stealing my images, no IG owning my photos, no Mark Zuckerberg.

Find me at the suggested places. Or text! Or call- I like that! The only thing that makes me sad is losing some community here. But I suspect life is more peaceful without META.

❄️My painting for my New Year’s postcards is complete!

This one is much bigger than my typical illustrations and, as usual, when going big you can run into some unexpected surprises. Trying to find dynamic additions to the composition to fill that much surface area could be a real head-scratcher. More space means more opportunity for refinement, but also can lead to overworking. Perks would be the awesome gradient I was able to get with easy wide swipes using big brushes. How about that sky!

Overall, I’m pleased! I hope industry professionals feel the same🫢

THIS WEEKEND for one day only, dive into the world of gouache. A beautiful matte paint that can look similar to watercolor or oil depending on how you work it! A non-toxic medium that is water soluble and can be re-wetted and re-worked. Those tubes are tiny but concentrated with TONS of pigment. So take it on the go! Bring it up a mountain and paint outside! This paint is FLEXIBLE, friends! You need to learn about it, and I want to teach it to you. Join me on Sunday! I can’t wait to see you!

Spooky season has only just begun and Dracula is racked with guilt! 🧛

It’s been a long while since I’ve posted an illustration, and it feels so good to be coming up with narrative pictures again! Although I don’t have the time to fully devote to I’ll post one when I can. There are 31 prompts!!!🎃

My witch’s hat is off and I am spellbound by any fellow illustrator who is brave enough for the challenge😱

My other joy is painting with the sun on my face and the breeze in my hair. If you haven’t tried plein air painting before, get out there and change that. You’ll be happy you did.
