EPISODE 7: Are Acemic Capsules REALLY Different? 👀🎤

One of the biggest questions we’ve gotten is whether Acemic’s different microphone capsules are actually different or if they’re just swapping out the grilles and calling them something else. 😂

So we opened them up to find out!

🔍 Inside the Capsules – We’re taking a closer look at what’s actually inside and comparing Acemic’s Beta 87A-style capsule to an authentic Shure Beta 87A. The similarities are pretty impressive!

🎤 sE Electronics V7 & V8 – Yes, you can use your favorite Shure-compatible capsules! We tested the V7 and even the brand-new V8, which isn’t widely available yet!

🎧 DPA Microphones – We also tested a DPA microphone with the Acemic bodypack, and it worked perfectly!

And THIS is one of the biggest reasons we chose Acemic!

You’re not locked into proprietary microphone capsules. Want to use a Shure KSM8, Beta 87A, SM58, or your favorite compatible sE Electronics capsule? You’ve got options!

The same goes for compatible professional lavalier, headset, and instrument microphones with their bodypacks.

You can keep the microphones and capsules you already love while taking advantage of Acemic’s wireless system. 🔥

We’re not saying Acemic is better than Shure. We’re showing you why the flexibility and price point made it worth considering for our productions.

EPISODE 6: Can Acemic REALLY compete with Shure? 👀🎤

In this episode, we’re diving into the Acemic G4Max and some of the features that have impressed us!

🎤 Beta 87A-style capsule paired with the F-series handheld body

🔋 6–8 hours of runtime from a single removable lithium battery

📡 Automatic frequency scanning to find available frequencies

📊 Built-in spectrum analyzer to see what’s happening in your RF environment

🔄 ID Set synchronization for pairing your microphones and receivers

🔇 Automatic mute when the battery compartment is opened, and unmute when closed!

Shure and Sennheiser are industry standards for a reason, but does professional wireless really have to cost that much?

We’re putting Acemic to the test in real-world corporate productions, and so far, we’re impressed! 🔥

EPISODE 5: Building the IEM System 🎧📡

In this episode we’re taking a closer look at the Acemic IEM antenna combiner — what comes with it, how it integrates into our racks, and why centralized antenna management was important as we built out our new wireless systems.

But I also wanted to clear something up because I know it’s going to come up:

Yes, FAME is an Acemic reseller.

But we don’t exclusively sell Acemic. We sell equipment from all kinds of manufacturers. I gain nothing from making a video telling you Acemic is great versus another brand.

This whole series started because I was researching wireless equipment for our own production company. I found Acemic, researched their products, purchased equipment, put it into our systems, and started testing it on real productions.

I liked what I found, so now I’m sharing it with y’all.

Something else a lot of people don’t realize is that Acemic has been manufacturing wireless audio equipment for established audio brands that many of you already know and use. I’m not going to name those companies because that’s not my place, but their manufacturing experience didn’t start when you first heard the Acemic name.

So no, I’m not telling you to throw away your Shure, Sennheiser or whatever else you love. 😂

I’m showing you what we bought, why we bought it, how we’re using it, and how it’s performing for us.

You can make your own decision from there. 🙌

And for complete transparency: if you decide you want Acemic and purchase through our FAME site, we do get credit for the sale.

EPISODE 4: It’s the little things. 🎤⚡

When you’re building wireless systems for professional production, RF performance matters — but so does everything around it.

In Episode 4, we’re taking a closer look at the Acemic AD-900 antenna system and some of the accessories that surprised us.

One of the first things we noticed was simply the build quality. The AD-900 feels substantially more robust than the Phenyx Pro antenna equipment we’ve been using.

Then there’s something as simple as power.

Our Phenyx Pro antenna system uses a power supply that, in our experience, feels like one of the weakest parts of the product. The Acemic uses a standard IEC power connection — exactly what we want in production. If a cable gets lost or damaged on a gig, we probably have 30 replacements sitting in a case somewhere. 😂

It arrives in a metal case and includes the hardware and accessories needed to rack it properly and distribute power to the other compatible wireless equipment in the system.

And Acemic even offers something we almost never see manufacturers think about:

custom foam inserts for your drawers and cases.

We can build a drawer specifically for our handhelds, bodypacks, batteries and accessories instead of throwing everything into a generic case.

And that really sums up what we’re discovering with Acemic.

It isn’t just “here’s a wireless microphone.”

They offer the antenna equipment, rack hardware, power accessories, charging, cases, foam inserts and other pieces needed to actually build complete production systems.

For a company like ours that’s potentially deploying multiple systems on the same night, those details matter.

Episode 3: The problem with proprietary gear 🎤

One of the biggest limitations we ran into with Phenyx Pro wasn’t the sound it was the ecosystem.

Their bodypacks use a 3-pin connection, but the wiring is proprietary. So just because another mic has the same 3-pin connector doesn’t mean it’s going to work.

That left us pretty limited to their lav and headset options.

For us, that became a real issue because we use four wireless systems specifically for horns. Since there wasn’t a proper horn mic option, we ended up custom-fabricating Phenyx headset mics into horn mics. 😂

Did it work? Yes.
Was it ideal? Not even close.

Acemic has given us a lot more flexibility.

Their bodypacks support a much wider range of 4-pin accessories, and they offer purpose-built options for:

🎷 Horns
🎻 Violin
🪗 Accordion
🎤 Lavs & headsets
🎸 ¼” instrument cables
…and more.

So now we’re not trying to force one microphone to do five different jobs.

For us, that matters just as much as RF performance or sound quality.

A professional wireless system should give you options not lock you into one accessory ecosystem.

“Why didn’t you just buy Shure or Sennheiser?” 🎤

We’ve gotten that question a lot.

And to be clear, Shure and Sennheiser make incredible wireless systems. There’s a reason they’re industry standards.

But for us, this isn’t about buying one or two microphones.

On a busy night, we could realistically have five separate production systems out at the same time. Across those systems, that could eventually mean 50 wireless microphones and 50 in-ear mixes in use across multiple events.

At that scale, the question changes.

It becomes:

How do we build something that is reliable enough for corporate production, scalable enough for multiple simultaneous events, and still financially responsible?

Because most of what we do is corporate production, and when a keynote speaker, executive, worship leader, or performer walks on stage, the gear has to work.

We wanted:

* true diversity
* solid RF performance
* frequency scanning and spectrum tools
* interchangeable Shure-compatible capsules
* antenna cascading
* removable rechargeable batteries
* a system that can scale across multiple productions
* and pricing that makes sense when you’re talking about dozens of channels, not just two

That’s what made Acemic interesting to us.

This isn’t “Acemic is better than Shure or Sennheiser.”

It’s more:

Do we have to spend Shure or Sennheiser money on 100 channels of wireless to get a system we can trust?

That’s what we’re finding out.

10/02/2026

We used Phenyx Pro wireless mics for YEARS and for the money, they honestly sound way better than they have any business sounding. 😂🎤

But as we started doing more live recordings and larger productions, we started running into some of their limitations.

One of the biggest? Capsule options.

The Phenyx handhelds have removable capsules, but they’re proprietary so you can’t just throw your favorite Shure capsule on them.

That’s one of the things that made the ACEMIC systems so interesting to us.

Want a KSM8? SEV7? Your favorite Shure-compatible capsule? Swap it on.

So we decided to give ACEMIC a shot.

While running sound for Payton Howie, we got a closer look at the in-ear rig her band uses on the road and this is exactly why a properly designed in-ear system can be such a game changer.

Their rig allows every musician to have a consistent in-ear mix no matter what stage or venue they’re performing on.

Because the system uses a split snake, front of house can be mixed completely independently from the band’s ears. That means we can adjust gain, EQ, compression, effects, and the overall house mix without changing what the musicians are hearing.

We set up a very similar system for the Logan Ryan Band just last week. The very next day, they performed with it and called us afterward to say everything sounded amazing and their in-ear mixes were perfect.

If your band is interested in having a professional in-ear rig designed, built, programmed, and tested for the road, give FAME a call!
