Smooth Feather At Smooth Feather Youth we empower youth by making films. Based at the historic Kezar Falls Theater.

At Smooth Feather Youth, we work with youth to do what makes us come alive in service of our community. Based at the historic Kezar Falls Theater in Southern Maine, we make films, create within the arts, explore the outdoors, and have open circles that allow for inspiration, adventure, and growth. Our incredible patrons allow us to offer all our films and events free of charge for all to be apart of and attend.

Earlier this month,we hosted a group of residents from Long Creek Youth Development Center. Silas provided the residents a tour of our historic Kezar Falls Theater! 🎭🎬

This tour was especially exciting since the residents have worked closely with Silas in the last year, creating two different Smooth Feather films, “Swamp Dog” and “Bigger Than Us” inside Long Creek. Through the filmmaking process, residents gained hands-on experience using cameras, green screens, sound and lighting equipment, while also learning film editing techniques and how to incorporate special effects.🎥

Silas showed film clips on the big screen! After the visit, residents and staff went out for pizza and ice cream to top off a great day.

We are so excited to be able to provide these valuable learning opportunities focused on creativity and building confidence through empowerment.
