Mary's Church in Downtown Port Washington has been a destination site for visitors all around. During the summer, our doors have been open to guests to visit and explore, to pray, or to just enjoy the architecture. We are excited to continue to host a summer concert series so that guests can experience the beautiful acoustics of the Neo-Gothic architecture as well as the wonderful 2003 Berghaus Pi

pe Organ. This concert series will include short programs from Noon to about 12:30 every Friday in June, July, and August. These concerts will include vocalists, chamber music ensembles, soloists, and of course organists. Mary's this summer and enjoy some "Music On the Hill."

Some exciting news to share with you all. This past winter the parish has reworked the welcoming area and entrance at our St. Mary's site. Some new paint, replaced some of the carpet with tiling, and freshened up the space in general. This summer, we are undertaking an even bigger endeavor that will require taking the church out of commission for several weeks over the summer. While we are sad to have to close the doors for three weeks over the end of June and beginning of July, the expected renewal will be well worth the wait.

The Andy Smith (June 27), the Independence Day (July 4), and Mike Keegan and friends (July 11) concerts will all go on but will be relocated to our beautiful Immaculate Conception church site in Saukville. Another historic building built in the Nep-Gothic style, this church site was built in 1875. We hope you will join us at our Saukville site for these three fantastic concerts!

This summer, we are excited to welcome the Organ Historical Society to the greater Milwaukee area. Many fantastic organs will be highlighted during the whirlwind week of August 3rd through the 8th. I hope you are able to attend some of the incredible events beings offered. While our Berghaus organ at St. John XXIII: St. Mary's will not be one of the featured instruments, an 1879 Wm. Schuelke organ at the Ozaukee Congregation Church down the road in Grafton will be highlighted on the final Friday.

If you have time, be sure to visit the light house right down the road from St. Mary’s site. Wonderful experience to be had there!

Big THANK YOU to our Light Station volunteer keepers this season so far. We could not have done it without you! Your time and passion for our local history are invaluable. We hope you come back next year and beyond.

We had Jack and Tobi Graham in May. Nicole Sova, Dave Garacci, Steve and Gini Hankes in June. July started off with Holly and Thomas Spaeth, both members of the Ozaukee County Historical Society and now Cori and Rob Kaminsky are manning the station. Wonderful job, everyone. We are so thankful!
