Just wanted to share how truly massive redwood trees can be.

This one-of-a-kind camper was built in 1940 from a single 32-foot section of a giant redwood log. At the time, a government forest management program required that one mature tree be removed to allow the surrounding forest to continue growing.

Instead of letting the entire tree go to waste, a craftsman saved a 32-foot section and, using a chain saw and incredible craftsmanship, transformed it into a fully functional camper.

The vision behind this project was simple: to give people a chance to experience just how enormous these magnificent redwood trees really were. More than 85 years later, it remains a remarkable piece of American history and craftsmanship that continues to inspire everyone who sees it.
