Post Script: The Starrett House "Raise the Roof" yardsale fundraiser brought in over $4,000! WOW! Thank you to everyone who donated, shopped and volunteered. Do you need something to wear for next year's festival? For Steampunk? The Haunted History Tours? Kinetics? Then do I have the event for you!!!!!
The Starrett House is having a "Raise the Roof" yardsale fundraiser. Owned by the local nonprofit Bayside Housing, the house is getting ready for not only a new roof, but a new paint job as well. There will be a HUGE variety of items available for purchase, plus tours of the house. And I happen to know that there will be an ENTIRE SECTION OF VICTORIAN COSTUME ITEMS 😍 Dresses, skirts, blouses, boots, hats. . . .Lots and lots of items. And all for a great cause. So mark your calendars for SATURDAY, JULY 11th. It's going to be epic!

Summer walking tours of Port Townsend's historic Uptown neighborhood have begun! Join us any Sunday at 11AM now through the end of August for a 90 minute, narrated stroll through the residential counterpart to our 19th century downtown. Enjoy the views, the meticulously restored Victorian homes, some history, architecture and anecdotes. It's the only tour of Uptown and it's only $10 per person. You can pay in person the morning of the tour, or go to our PTHA webpage and reserve tickets for any weekend this summer. We meet at the post office, 1322 Washington Street. Come one, come all! It's only for the summer season - don't miss it.

Ticket sales for our summer walking tours of Port Townsend's historic Uptown are now live! Tours are every Sunday at 11AM beginning June 21st, and run through August 30th. You can purchase a ticket on site with cash - or reserve yours for any of our future dates by going to ptheritage.org.

The summer brings our annual walking tours of historic Uptown Port Townsend. Beginning June 21st, you can stop by our local post office (on the register of National Historic Places!) at 1322 Washington Street at 11AM and take a guided tour of this very special neighborhood. We'll have details for reserving tickets up soon; but you can also just show up and pay $10 cash. You will be regaled with stories of Port Townsend's early days, tales of restoration and fun facts about this unique historic district. The route is 90 minutes, almost entirely flat and there's plenty of parking. We'll be there waiting for you, every Sunday at 11 through the end of August.

That's a wrap! Time to turn the lights down on this year's festival. Our sincere thanks to everyone who helped make it happen and who attended. Our summer Uptown walking tout season starts mid-June, so stay tuned.

Our 2026 Fashion Show included a model in a replica Confederate uniform. We were subsequently contacted by individuals who were deeply uncomfortable with this inclusion. We sincerely apologize to our models, festival goers, and supporters. We will work to ensure that we do better by all our patrons and participants in the future.

A special thank you to our 2026 presenters! Presentations are our bread and butter. We all love the fancy clothes and historic buildings; but at the heart of it all is the telling of our history. And every year we are grateful for the talents of these storytellers, experts and enthusiasts. So a great big thank you to Ricardo Gomez, Patricia Francisco, Matt Bell, Joyce Hester, Pat Durbin and Joyce Hester. You enriched and informed us, entertained and enlightened us.

Thank you to Deputy Mayor Owen Rowe for reading the City proclamation declaring the last week of April to be "Port Townsend Heritage Week". After a hearty cheer from the assembled crowd, we all adjourned for birthday cake to celebrate Port Townsend's 175th birthday. It was a spectacular kick off for our festival!
Come tomorrow for presentations, more tours, a free demonstration of lacemaking, a tintype portrait session, the fashion show and our evening family contra dance. What are you waiting for? 😄
