Warlock came into my life almost 7 years ago. For some reason he put his trust in me from the start. At 9 years old then, I don’t think he’d ever had ‘his person’ before. And he was very protective of ‘his person’ … which several people over the years discovered first hand… and maybe because of his struggles, he taught me more about myself than I could have ever wished for.

It wasn’t always easy. I’m not going to lie. But his loyalty and love were always there. And he was Funny. He had humor! Noone could make me laugh as hard as he could.

And he taught me patience. I’m not saying he didn’t drive me crazy at times, but to me he was Kind and he tried his best. Maybe I wish we could have diagnosed him earlier, but since there is no medication or surgery that could have changed his trajectory… at least I can feel that I did what I could.

Even at the end when he so clearly suffered, his trust in me remained. And in the midst of this sadness, I know he was as happy as he could be over these past years.

Up here in WA, he also had his horsey best friend. Spirit & Warlock became inseparable… and she misses him.
