From Larry:

No turning back now. I put up the poster on the door to our new art gallery. 4 of us, all local artist, created a new LLC and will open for Gallery Walk on 4 November. Each of us provided an image of one of our show paintings for the poster. Mine is the upper right "Live In the Moment" - a black Great Dane standing in the wind and being all dog. We're using this month to get the Point of Sales system up and running, getting our insurance, doing some painting/cleaning et al. This first show will be a fun one - "Pets and Critters". 10% of the sales will go to our local animal shelter. More information later as we get closer to 4 November. I never thought at this stage of life I would have a new career/purpose, but here I am.

Latest project:
Been playing with this image of a Bighorn Sheep I saw (I took his photo) in Yellowstone NP about a week ago. This is a small 12 inch version - I think I'll try it in a larger format - at least 20 inches. I used only a black and white palette - mars black, titanium white, zinc white, and payne's gray. Various shades of gray were mixed from the basic four paints.

Had these three paintings professionally photographed. Just got them back this afternoon. I can now make high quality acrhival prints if needed. I really like how the Glencairen whiskey glasses came out. I'm fascinated with trying to paint glass without too much paint, yet have it look like glass. The carousel horse was fun. I'm planning on doing another one or two. All are acrylic on wood panels, 8 x 10 inches in size.

Shared from Larry's page: When I started painting and drawing - I told myself not to go political with my art. Well: never say never. Did this today. About done - will tweak the shadows tomorrow and then varnish it. 9 x 12 inch acrylic on wood panel. Simple palette: mars black, titanium white and cadmium red medium. Haven't given her a name yet. Normally I paint fun stuff (food, flowers, booze etc) as seen on the display table in my studio. But she seems to fit in.
