“breathe.scream.dream” 11x17” watercolor, gouache, & ink.
Been struggling with the death of my dad which still feels like it was yesterday even though it has been more than a year now. I choose to believe that his spirit crossed the river into the most joyous plane of existence that I can currently only imagine. This painting is also a metaphor for life in that sometimes you have to go through hell to reach the best parts that await you in the future. Turning my pain into something beautiful helps me cope better than anything else I’ve tried.
