🌺 As we celebrated our 2-Year Anniversary last weekend, there was one very special person who remained close to our hearts.

From the very beginning—even gathering with us on the front porch during our Grand Opening—Liz Entwistle was one of Windhorse’s greatest champions. She believed in us, celebrated alongside us, and helped shape the welcoming community we dreamed of creating.

Liz had a remarkable gift for connection. Whether attending an art opening, enjoying live music, sharing a story over a glass of wine, or stopping by to talk about one of our favorite mutual passions—donkeys—she brought warmth, joy, and genuine curiosity wherever she went. She showed up for people, and she showed up for this community.

As part of our celebration, we shared plans to plant a Luna Hibiscus in Liz’s memory—a lasting reminder of the beauty, joy, and vibrant spirit she brought to so many lives. In a moment that felt almost too perfect to be coincidence, the hibiscus was in full bloom on the very day of our anniversary celebration and a new bloom emerged again today! It is a beautiful sight and a gentle reminder that some people leave an imprint on our hearts that never fades.

While we wish Liz could have celebrated this milestone with us, we know her spirit remains woven into the fabric of Windhorse and the many friendships she helped nurture here.

Liz, thank you for your encouragement, your kindness, your laughter, and the countless memories you’ve left behind. We carry them with us every day.

This anniversary celebration was dedicated, in part, to your memory—with love, gratitude, and a toast to a life beautifully lived. 🥂❤️

Forever in our hearts.

✨ As we reflect on this past weekend’s 2-Year Anniversary celebration, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, raised a glass, shared a hug, offered kind words, and celebrated alongside us. The outpouring of love and support was felt in every corner of the gallery. It was evident in the smiles, the laughter, the stories shared among friends old and new—and yes, perhaps even a few tears of joy.

During our anniversary remarks, we somehow managed to fill four pages with words of thanks. Yet even after all of that, it still feels impossible to fully express just how grateful we are for this community and the role each of you has played in our journey.

What began as a dream has grown into something far greater than we ever imagined, thanks to the people who continue to walk through our doors, support local artists and makers, gather around our tasting table, attend our events, and believe in what we’re building together.

This community continues to shine, and that light inspires us every day. It lifts us during challenges, celebrates alongside us during milestones, and propels us forward with excitement for what lies ahead.

Thank you for being part of our story. Thank you for helping us reach this milestone. And thank you for making these past two years so incredibly meaningful.

Here’s to the next year, the next chapter, and many more moments shared together.

Cheers, with heartfelt gratitude. 🥂

✨ Two years ago, we set out to create a wine program built on curiosity, discovery, and connection. What we never expected was the incredible community that would grow alongside it.

We’re honored and incredibly excited to share that we’ve once again been nominated for Best Wine Selection in this year’s Lowcountry’s Best Awards! Last year, receiving this recognition during our first year in business was both humbling and surprising. Now, fresh off celebrating our 2-Year Anniversary, we’d be thrilled to earn your support once again. Voting is open through June 19th!

🖼️ Things to Do: Art Gallery
🍷 Eat & Drink: Wine Selection

The link to vote in comments below ~ thank you for being part of our Windhorse journey! 💫

This nomination truly belongs to all of you. Through your enthusiasm, feedback, and willingness to explore, you’ve encouraged us to continuously push our wine program further—from small-production growers and family estates to the natural, organic, and biodynamic wines that have become some of our most beloved discoveries.

If you’ve ever been curious about what makes our wine selection special, join us for Uncorked every Friday from 5–7 PM. This casual, drop-in tasting experience is where we introduce new wines to the shop, share stories from the producers behind them, and—most importantly—hear your thoughts in real time. Many of our favorite wines on the shelves today found their way here because of conversations that started around the tasting table.

Thank you for supporting our small business, our wine program, and our passion for sharing great bottles and great stories. We couldn’t do it without you. 🍷

✨ A few days ago, we shared that things were shifting around the gallery. New works were arriving, displays were evolving, and fresh inspiration was finding its place throughout the space.

Now, those changes have come together just in time for one of our favorite weekends of the year.

This weekend, we’re celebrating our 2-Year Anniversary Jubilee, and we couldn’t be more excited. What began as a vision for a woodworking studio and gallery has grown into a vibrant gathering place filled with incredible art, craftsmanship, creativity, and community.

As we look around the gallery today, we’re reminded that every piece on the walls, every maker represented, and every visitor who has walked through our doors has helped shape this journey. We’re incredibly grateful for the support, friendships, and encouragement we’ve received over the past two years.

Whether you’ve been with us since day one or are planning your first visit, we hope you’ll join us this weekend for the festivities. Come explore what’s new, discover beautiful work from talented artists and makers, enjoy the celebration, and help us toast to two wonderful years in Port Royal.

Here’s to creativity, community, and the exciting chapters still to come.

Two years ago, we unlocked the doors to Windhorse and welcomed our very first guests. What we couldn’t have known then was how many incredible people, artists, neighbors, and friends would walk through those doors and become part of the story. ❤️

As we approach our Two-Year Anniversary Jubilee, we’re feeling especially grateful for the community that has grown around this little gallery by the water. Windhorse has always been about more than art—it’s about connection, curiosity, creativity, and creating a space where people feel inspired and at home.

So on Saturday, June 13th, we’re inviting you to celebrate with us.

✨ Meet and mingle with some of your favorite Windhorse artists, including Louis Bruce, Lisa Shimko, Louise Hall, Elizabeth Middour, Nysa Hicks, and Emily Scott, with live painting and special appearances throughout the day.

🦞 Enjoy a visit from our friends at Lowcountry Lobster Food Truck.

🎶 Settle in for an afternoon of live music featuring:
• Ed Hunnicutt and The Sons of Pitches at 1 PM
• Flatt Silly at 4 PM

🥂 And don’t miss our inaugural Happiest of Hours—a little Windhorse-style mischief and merriment sprinkled between the music. Expect the unexpected.

🍷 We’re also thrilled to welcome back a very special member of the Windhorse family, Kellie Holmes of , our beloved Wine Guru. She’ll be joining us to share stories, memories, laughter, and perhaps a few memorable pours as we toast this milestone together.

This celebration is our way of saying thank you. Thank you for supporting local artists. Thank you for believing in our vision. Thank you for helping Windhorse become the vibrant, joyful place it is today.

Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or have only recently discovered us, we hope you’ll join us as we celebrate two wonderful years—and all the adventures still to come.

Come curious. Leave happier. ✨

✨Can you believe it’s been TWO years since we opened the doors to Windhorse? ✨

What began as a dream has become something so much bigger than we ever imagined—a gathering place for art, connection, creativity, laughter, and community. Every artist, visitor, friend, and supporter who has walked through our doors has helped shape Windhorse into what it is today, and for that, we are deeply grateful.

So now it’s time to celebrate... the Windhorse way. 🥂

Join us on Saturday, June 13th for our Two-Year Anniversary Jubilee—a joyful day filled with live music, art, wine, community, and plenty of surprises.

✨ Have you noticed that things are looking a little different around here lately? ✨

We’re making room for new works, fresh perspectives, and a few thoughtfully curated moments throughout the gallery. This cozy corner just happens to be one of our favorites.

Featuring Broad River, an original photograph on canvas by John Duckworth, nestled beautifully among works by Matt Alston and Emily Scott, this little vignette invites you to slow down and stay awhile. Add in one of the coolest & comfiest sofas from Four Hands and an original coffee table from our sister company Perrin Woodworking, and you’ve got the perfect spot to pause, take it all in, and perhaps find your next favorite piece.

Stop by, settle in, and explore what’s new. We have a feeling you’ll discover something unexpected.
