I just saw my first flashlight butt bug a moment ago. A green spark of color and light with a backdrop of a fresh summer's night. The crickets and frogs sing, almost in a harmony. It's a symphony...an art piece...and all I had to do to hear it and see it and partake of it was to just simply sit my non-flashlight butt outside. What a beautiful world this is. How lucky am I?

Sometimes it's hard to see the beauty when one's mind is blanketed with fears or sadness...or whatever kinds of darkness and clouds that come with this living experience. Into the depths we go where the sunlight grows fainter, and the void becomes crippling. Our minds get entrapped by the darkness of this life...our days ensnared by foreboding of what could be...or what is...

But even when the what is, is the is...another is, is in parallel to the other is, always. Even when it is dark, there is always beauty, even if it's hidden between the layers.
Sometimes it can just be a flashlight butt bug's flashlight butt blinking. It's beautiful isn't it?

I'm just gonna say this right now...while they are currently working on the bridge across 24th street, I'm not holding my breath that all the issues will be resolved. No, it's gonna need some proper engineering and changes, I reckon. My obsession won't end until there is an actual safe pedestrian walkway underneath, and I'll play my hand as well as I can to get it done. So...if I'm just getting started, then I'm just getting started. I'll be as annoying as I have to be 🤡
