Alright, trashy community...it's choose-your-own-adventure time!
Yesterday I put a call out for new candidates for Port Huron city council to contact me. Thus far, 3 of them have reached out...which is already a better response rate that I get from emails I have sent to the current council 😂 So, now comes the time to schedule an interview of sorts.
Here is what I am thinking...
I don't want to do some regular boring candidate meeting where you hear political jargon for an hour. I want to give you an opportunity to get to know the candidates...who they are, and what they believe, think, and feel. They, just like you, are people in the community. People with experiences and perspectives and hopes for the community. That's the kind of stuff I want you to hear.
I have a general idea of how I would do this. I'd have a sign up for people who want to come physically be at The Dumpster while the interview thing is taking place. I have limited space, which is why I'd do a sign up...but I would request for questions people want to ask, days prior to the show, so that even if you can't make it physically, you'd be able to participate from home (I'll live stream the thing).
I envision this to be a kind of relaxed talk show, rather than a bureaucratic meeting. I think it's pretty evident that the sterile court proceedings style is ineffective. I want to give you something different.
Now, here is where the choose-your-own-adventure comes in...and where I need your help deciding.
Do I...
1. Do one "show" with all of the candidates?
Or
2. Do separate "shows" for each candidate?

I will be out of town for the next 5-6 days 😕 (momma has to go do some non-clown work so she can buy cigs and have a place to live 😂)
