The summer finale concludes with a tempestuous trio of great works, featuring the one-and-only Jeremy Denk in concert with the Takács Quartet. When asked to describe his Sonata in D minor, Beethoven’s reply was characteristically cryptic. “Go and read Shakespeare’s Tempest.” We continue this stormy journey with composer-in-residence Gabriela Lena Frank's String Quartet Quijotadas and César Franck’s Piano Quintet.

Program:
Gabriela Lena Frank | Quijotadas (2007)
Ludwig Van Beethoven | Piano Sonata in D minor, Op 31 No 2 “The Tempest” (1802)
César Franck | Piano Quintet in F minor (1879)

Jeremy Denk, piano

Takács Quartet
Edward Dusinberre, violin
Harumi Rhodes, violin
Richard O’Neill, viola

Please join the Olympic Peninsula Rodeo Association and the Juan de Fuca Foundation for the Arts in welcoming Haywire as the post rodeo entertainment on Friday, August 21st.

Haywire, fronted by Denny Secord is a longtime Olympic Peninsula favorite, bringing an upbeat mix of classic rock, country, blues, and R&B to the stage. Known for a fun, dance-friendly sound and a setlist packed with familiar favorites, this band knows how to get a crowd moving and keep the good times rolling.

The stage will be set in the Grandstand B**r Garden, just east of the Clallam County Fairground Grandstands and is included as part of your fair admission. Only those 21+ will be allowed into the b**r garden, but spectators in the east section of the grandstands will be able to see and hear the show while contestants not already included in the main public rodeo compete in rodeo events.

The show begins around 8:30, after the rodeo main event concludes. Join us!
