Okay, we're nine days away from the 13th, and we're going to share a little bit of behind-the-scenes action with this one…
When our pizza oven arrived, the crate weighed over 400 pounds. It needed to be unboxed, positioned, and lifted onto its current home.
We expected it to be difficult. Instead, Chris, Hannah, Guy, Owl, and Justin all miraculously appeared.
✨No formal plan.
✨No moving company.
✨No professional equipment.
Just a handful of musicians who looked at a giant crate and decided, "Yeah, we got this."
What followed next was a highly technical operation involving beer, teamwork, problem solving, questionable physics, lots of laughter, absolutely no OSHA regulations, and at least one collective moment where we all probably silently agreed not to think about what could happen if somebody lost their grip.
The good news is: everyone's fingers survived. So did the oven. And we've been feeding people ever since.
We think the pizza tastes better knowing who moved the oven ❤

But that's not the only saga in the adventures with this pizza oven. Oh no!
We operate with a hybrid oven; meaning it can run on propane, wood, or both. During our first summer of operations, the element went out and we were relegated to strictly wood...
Which meant we suddenly needed a LOT of firewood. Like quantity. Immediately.
Enter Jess of Bread & Gravy.
Jess helped us load and unload firewood... in his van!
He saved our entire operation on a day his band wasn't even playing.
Jess went out of his way to save the show that day, and we're pretty sure Stephanie sent him. Thanks sis! 😘
As part of this same chapter, it's also worth mentioning that Gray's Motors stepped in and loaned us a pickup so we could haul additional firewood and discontinue messing up the Bread and Gravy van 😂

The thing about opening a business is that people tend to focus on the visible parts.
What they don't see are the hundreds of moments taking place behind the scenes. Moments that build towards the overall atmosphere and experience. The scramble juxtaposed the support. The chaos faced off with rapid coordination.
Rosie's is bigger than one person. Note: there is no Rosie. It's a concept. We can do it.
Sure we took some pretty big risks to get the gears going… and it's been a remarkable trust fall exercise.
But truth is, this place wasn't built by just any single one of us. It's been built by all of those who caught us mid freefall along the way.
We think that's pretty incredible.
Thank you! ❤️
