I got the Botanical Gardens sculpture gig and have been working to build the mammoth mushrooms for the past three months. I’m nearly there- but the most difficult part is still ahead- getting the 7’ tall mushroom vertical and secured to a base.

I recently submitted a public art proposal for 3 realistic Fly Agaric Mushroom sculptures to be displayed at the local Botanical Gardens. If I get the gig, I'll spend the next few months carving mushrooms out of EPS and coating them in Hypertufa and Stucco. The largest mushroom will stand at 7' tall.

I made a birdseed wreath that was much enjoyed by the tree’s resident squirrel until I turned it to ensure squirrel’s feast didn’t become a ground buffet. Happily, the little birds have found it as well.

A look inside my studio and a bit about what I’m working on at the Peter Bollugh Foundation where I am an artist in residence. First full day in residence at the Peter Bullough Foundation. I turned my studio into a camera obscura! It’s dark out now, but I get to enjoy it again in the morning! The world outside my door is upside down inside my door.
