Happy Wednesday!!! Hope your week is going great! I’ve been busy working on some new shirts and sweatshirts that’ll be headed to my booth soon. I’m so excited about these!

I just love sourcing for well loved quilts and giving them new life. Plus level up those plain tops. Sometimes I can see how I’ll use the quilts. Sometimes it comes to me later on during the process of getting it ready. Rarely do cutter quilts come immediately ready to use. Most come from years and decades of love shown them. Some have stains from how they were stored. (Yes that matters!!) Many of the oldest ones it’s wood fire & smoking tar that has to be cleaned out.

This weeks soakers were some doozies! 🤪 I honestly don’t know that I’ve had to swap out water so many times. From the initial soak, swish, drain, rinse & repeat process the smallest item took 4 soaks- 2 of which was me hand washing then soaking. It was so dark when I first got it. I wish I had taken a before picture. I was so shocked at how it lightened up. But that water 🤢. Note to self, your precious embroidered, quilts or woven items don’t do well in a kitchen. 🤢

The quilt, ya’ll! We are currently on our 5th soak with no clean rinse in sight!😩 It brings “labor of love” to a whole new level. So far the quilt has stained my tub twice during this process. That has been a first for me. Funny thing is I’ve picked up quilts that smelled a mile away and were less nasty. This one had a stored smell but nothing like what’s coming out of it! Moral of the story- if you’re like me and love linens, quilts and such from years ago. Always, always soak and clean them. It’ll lengthen their life as well. Store them properly. Use them, love them! Someone lovingly poured themselves into every stitch 💗

What is that Wednesday?

Have you popped by my booth and wondered what the contraption was hanging from the wall? Have you scrolled Pinterest and seen one hanging on a wall but not really know what it was for? The clothes line wasn’t the only way to hang your laundry to dry. It’s one of my favorite purchases I made for myself. I can’t wait to get mine hung up in my laundry room. It’s the perfect space saver. Not to mention if you’re into primitive decor this definitely fits the bill. I do have one similar to these styles in my booth right now. Go check it out!
