Yes, I'm making a post just a few hours out of surgery. This is how passionate I am about education on the use piercing guns.
Just remember anyone who comes at your body with a piercing gun IS NOT a professional, DOES NOT have your best interest in mind, and just wants your money!
Professionals do not use piercing guns, ever!
If you needed another reason to avoid piercings done with a gun... here it is.
#1 The studs used aren’t sharp. They are blunt, dull, and never designed to be forced through tissue.
#2 Piercing guns don't pierce they tear! That tearing causes unnecessary swelling, trauma, scarring, and potential long term complications. Your body deserves better than that. Your body is worth the wait. I get it it's fast, it's easy, it's at the mall or flea market. That thing is literally forcing jewelry through your body instead of creating a clean opening. Your ear feels that!
#3 If used on cartilage for example it can completely shatter the cartilage which is not only painful but the damage can be permanent. #4 Percing guns offer zero control. Once the trigger is pulled, the jewelry is forced straight through with no ability to adjust. A professional using a needle can adjust placement in real time. Standard needles, like the ones piercers use, have a scalpel like sharpness, that doesn't damage the tissue. Piercing needles are also hollow which removes part of the skin to make room for the jewelry. This makes the process less painful and easier to heal.
#5 The ones using the guns have zero training other than a short online video. They are not inspected or governed by the State Board of Health which means they don't have to follow any standards on sterilization and safety. Don't be fooled by the fancy names they call their piercing guns. They are all the same and pierce with the same dull earings.
If you're looking to get a piercing it's not only safer but less painful to NOT get it done with a piercing gun. 🫶
