Meet our sponsor: Hopcat 🏳️‍🌈

When Hopcat announced they were opening at Great Lakes Crossing, their CEO said they wanted to create a space where everyone feels welcome. He said, "We can't wait to meet our neighbors."

Pontiac is the neighbor. And Pontiac has never had a Pride. Not once, not ever.

They didn't wait to see how it went. They didn't ask who else was in first. They said yes to a city ten minutes up Baldwin that was finally doing this for the first time, and they said it early, when saying yes still took something.

A lot of places say everyone is welcome. Fewer put their name on it.

So go see them. Sit at their bar. Get the Cosmik Fries everybody talks about. And tell them Pride in Pontiac says thank you.

This is the part of the job that doesn’t feel like a job. 🏳️‍🌈
HopCat signed on to Pontiac’s first Pride, and they did it early. Broken Arrow is proud to have them at the table.
Go give them your business. They earned it.

Meet our sponsors B. Nektar our featured nonalcoholic mocktail sponsor with the delicious SØBER line.

B. Nektar was founded in 2006 by Brad and Kerri Dahlhofer in Ferndale, MI just outside of Detroit
Brad had been an avid homebrewer since 1998, making beers, meads, ciders, and wine for his own enjoyment. When Brad and Kerri got married in 2005, he made a mead to toast with at their wedding and received great reviews from the guests. Jokingly, he said that he’d someday open a meadery. They soon began making meads in their basement and those meads quickly began winning awards at homebrewing competitions.
In the summer of 2006, Kerri was laid-off from her job. While sipping a glass of vanilla cinnamon mead made by Brad, she thought, “Why not try to sell this?” It was then that the three decided to take their mead making to the next level. In the spring of 2008, Brad too fell victim to layoffs, and the three worked night and day to prepare for their opening. After nearly two years since its inception, B. Nektar finally opened its doors on August 2, 2008 (National Mead Day).
B. Nektar’s session meads and hard ciders are now shaping the craft revolution. To say it’s been a long road from the home-brewing days would be a tremendous understatement, but B. Nektar continues to increase their production capacity and is currently the largest meadery in the U.S.A.
B. Nektar was the first meadery to join the ranks on the top 100 best breweries in the world by Ratebeer.
With the energy and spirit B. Nektar brings to brewing some amazing beverages we are happy to bring them on as a nonalcoholic sponsor, but don’t fear if you want to sample some of the amazing nonalcoholic beverages they offer we will be having at Pride in Pontiac on August 14th at 1 S Saginaw St Pontiac, MI 48342

Pontiac has never had a Pride.

That never really made sense to us.

We’ve got one of the most diverse communities in Oakland County. We’ve got artists, musicians, performers, small businesses, and a whole lot of LGBTQ+ people who call this city home.

So we’re fixing that.

On August 14th, Pontiac Pride comes to The Crofoot.

And they aren't just hosting us. The Crofoot stepped up to donate part of the space and cover our security to make this a reality.

We're building a full day of community organizations, vendors, entertainment, drag, food, and music. If you're a local artist, vendor, or group who wants to participate, reach out to get involved. This is a chance to show up, be seen, and celebrate together.

Shoutout to B. Nektar for joining us too. They’ve sponsored the Pike Room and The Vernors Room to give us the space we need and they’ll be bringing their line of craft zero-proof SØBER mocktails so everyone has something great to drink.

And before anyone asks, yes, it’s in August.
Pride doesn’t stop being Pride just because June is over.

More details coming soon. For now, save the date.

August 14, 2026.
