Tavarez Art & Design Cartoonist and Designer from Pontiac, MI Indie publisher and producer of comics and graphic novels.

We're the storytellers of our generation, looking to craft and create stories that rival those of the status quo. Founded in Winter 2009 by Ryan Tavarez, Michael Butler, and Steven Kuerbitz in the diner formally known as "Nicks Country oven.” The group of young creators set out to learn the ins and outs of making comic books. With no formal training, they set out to make comics and tell stories their way.

Sketchcovers from Cherry Capital Comic Con. Had a blast working on these, two of which were for the silent auction. Lately been carrying some blanks sketch covers for shows. I think sketch covers are a really great way to get something personal and original that fits nicely in any collection. The hard part is scooping up the blanks!

May the 4th be with you! Happy Star Wars day!!

My favorite character by far in Starwars is Yoda. OG puppet holds a tremendous place in my heart. The scenes of Luke training on Degobah with Yoda in tow, his weird dialect, even the scene where he finally rests eternal.

A few years back I got to see the ACTUAL artifact at a costumes exhibit at the DIA, the literal hairs stood up on my arms. Sealed in a glass container, bathed in a hazy glow. I couldn't help but just gaze at him.

Tetsuo - Emperor of Ruin. From Akira. Super formative for me as I got more and more into manga, the movie was one that was always talked about and was mind blowing, earth shattering. But always left me scratching my head a little. But once I was able to dig through the manga series it all clicked and even elevated my experience with the movie.

Cementing Otomo as one of my top influences and inspirations. There is a pinnacle that I know I will never reach, but will always aspire to.
