"Ribbons on the Blue"
Mixed Media
30"x 40"
This oil painting with hand-stitched thread brings together my love of vivid color, water’s calming presence, and luxurious texture. The boats are built with a palette knife, layered in ribbon-like strokes that give the hulls energy and structure. In contrast, the water and reflections are painted with a smoother finish, creating a sense of depth and quiet movement.

"The Company I Keep"
30" x 40"
oil on canvas

Self-portrait with my daughters, painted from the inside out. It holds the warmth of our everyday—those in-between moments where they climbed into my space, my lap, my heart—bringing their own brand of mayhem and love with them. The warm and dark colors echo their giggles that overshadow the noise and small rebellions that filled our days. It’s a snapshot of who we were in this fleeting moment in time—far from perfect, gloriously alive, and bound together by a love that makes every bit of their mischief feel like home.

"Santorini"
40" by "40" Oil on Canvas
First Place Winner of Juried Competition

I had my fascination of the beautiful Santorini on the brain when I composed this image. This artwork's goal was to capture the essence of Mediterranean elegance through a sumptuous interplay of pattern, texture, and light. Rich earth tones blend harmoniously with sea-inspired turquoise and ivory, evoking the sunlit architecture and tranquil waters of the Greek isles. The fluid drapery, adorned with intricate geometric motifs, creates a rhythm of folds and shadows that feels both luxurious and intimate. A beaded tassel necklace rests softly across the fabric, adding a touch of tactile realism and serenity. Through layered color, the image transforms textile and ornament into a celebration of movement, memory, and refined beauty.

So this happened this weekend a I submitted 2 of my paintings for a competition and won Ist place! A solo show will be hosted for my work in about a year from now. Thank you all who have supported me (way, way more of you than represented in these pics), believed in me and encouraged me to do what I love. I look forward to seeing you all at the next show!

“Quiet Witness” • 5" x 7" • oil painting

A single eye held in a field of bare canvas, as if the rest of the face has slipped away and only awareness remains. I painted this as an intimate study of looking and being seen—a quiet presence that notices everything, even in the unfinished edges of the moment.
