I wanted to take a min to share a few things. I love art and creating things. I make almost all my own props and decorations by hand and try to learn every technique there is. I just wanted to touch base on some of what i do sculpting clay to make Halloween masks, wood carvings, styrofoam carving props, smelting some metals to create jewelry and props, carpentry to build the set designs, sewing to make the costumes, I design some of my own STL files for 3d printing, I do digital logo designs, painting of all types, I hand craft all the candles, tanning hides for leather, leather working and even make some of my own lights. Also while their not the best ive wrote and illustrated a couple of books. I always feel funny to say i am technically a published author. There is a vast amount that I do and sometimes it does consume me. I will work very long days on end to finish a project or prop. I do use reclaimed item a lot in my work.
I do all this to give everyone the best experience I can and honestly I don't make that much in the way of income. often the only way I can afford something is to make it myself. It's not Ideal but it works. I have made many mistakes along the way and that is normal for any learning process.
Like this year I decided to learn how to weld..๐ I can say I am NOT good at that. But again it takes time.
I've spent countless just reading and learning new things and historical facts. I absolutely love history as much as I love Halloween and boating. If you haven't noticed I kinda like ships and boats lol.
Now it hasn't all be fun unfortunately. I've had many injuries along the way. Broken bones, broken ribs, fracture in my skull, gashes so deep you could see the bone, stress induced mini strokes (two this year alone), falls that have left my spine in shambles. My doctors have literally told me it looks like i have been hit and run over twice. But through it all I keep on pushing on. I am thankful that I have some of my old actors come help me from time to time.
I did want to thank everyone that came out and saw us. You have no idea how much that ment to me. We have had an incredibly bad year, if it could go wrong or break it did. So hearing some kind words was much need.
Unfortunately that night our cats got out and one was killed he was found two houses down in the alley and the other I found a few days later crying in the alley and in a lot of pain. Thankfully we have a wonderful vet. Like I said it's been a very rough year. But on a positive note we will be getting our driveway completely replaced and a brand new fence put in. Our fence has seen too many storms and tree limbs over the years. It looks awful as it is. Should have been replaced years ago but it wasn't in the budget
Again I want to thank all who have came out and seen my grand display. It really means a lot to me to see people enjoying my artwork.
