Continuing a Leadership Ponca City tradition that began with LPC Class 39, Spark the Orange Frog made his return to Class 40!
Spark represents the idea from Shawn Achor’s The Happiness Advantage that one person’s positivity can spread throughout an entire group. The energy, attitude, encouragement, and enthusiasm we bring into a room can create a ripple effect, influencing the people around us.
Class 39 embraced that idea and gave Spark quite a journey. Along the way, they added mementos representing their experiences, inside jokes, special moments, and the people who made their class memorable. His final memento was the Class 39 badge belonging to outgoing Chair, Sean Grigsba.
When Spark returned to Class 40, however, he came back with a clean slate. Class 39 mementos were left behind, so Spark arrived ready for a whole new adventure. Now it is up to Class 40 to keep the momentum going, add to his story, and fill him with memories that represent this class and their Leadership Ponca City journey.
Choosing our first Spark recipient was not an easy decision! So many members of Class 40 brought their own spark to the retreat through their enthusiasm, participation, creativity, kindness, and willingness to engage.
Our first Spark recipient for Class 40 is Kestrel Tinklenberg, Executive Director of City Arts!
Kestrel is the kind of person who brings energy to the room, ideas to the table, and sincerity to everything she does. She is engaged, creative, helpful, and genuinely invested in the people around her.
Kestrel exemplifies what Spark represents: the ability to positively influence a group simply by how you show up.
Congratulations, Kestrel! Spark is officially in your hands until History Day on September 9th. Now let’s see where he goes next and what Class 40 adds to his story!
