Its happening!
I truly thought Repertory Opera Company was done. Good run. Great shows. BUT today I sit down to write the schedule for the first half of the 2022-2023 Season. Season NINETEEN. Much love to the wonderful people who have worked and sacrificed to get us to this unepexpected rebirth. Stay tuned.
We are singing Music at Noon at the Claremont Forum bookstore today.
Unfortunately Jimmy Lopez who was scheduled to sing has a mild case of COVID and so won't be singing.
We are fortunate that Steve Moritsugu is able to sing. He is bringing three beautiful and beautifully sung Italian songs. Karl will play Georgia on my Mind and Stormy Weather.
Tom and I are reprising our fun Master of the House from Les Mis.
Thank you!

"We ran into each other around Pomona at the more sedate arts events, like Repertory Opera Co. productions or silent-film night at Pilgrim Congregational Church. The genial, low-key Smith usually had a twinkle in his eye and a kind word or two."
Twin rock festivals in 1970s drew a combined 500,000 people.
Repertory Opera Company has presented nineteen outdoor concerts since the closings in May. Now we have a final three in the Courtyard at Pilgrim Congregataion Church. Here is program for tomorrow Wednesday, November 25 at 2 pm.
Normally, sopranos singing themselves to death are my favorite thing. But perhaps now it hits a little close to home. Either way, Lindsay Feldmeth Westra sang A beautiful Aida Tomb Scene. We sang the whole last Act with Patrick Blackwell as Ramphis. That's LizBeth in the backstage background waiting to sing final Amneris "Pace, pace, pace." Photo credit Slav Zatoka
The camera loves 'em. And so do we. Two of the artists with Repertory Opera Company's Opera Nights: Parking lot Edition. Jessica Berns Garner and Kirk Garner. Photo credit Slav Zatoka. Please note: start time for final two weeks is 5 pm. Sundays October 18th and 25th.
Great news. We have been awarded a Los Angeles County Arts and Culture grant. Waiting to see the amount. Yay.
Usually this is the point in the year where Repertory Opera company has its spring fundraiser. Make our Garden Grow. With a graphic adding one leaf for each new donation. This campaign helps to raise the money for a wonderful season of music. Unfortunately we are mostly unable to share our voices and our vision and our joy with you in person. What we hope for and visualize is the near future where one singer in concert can sing to a small physically distanced audience. Which will eventually, gradually progress to our wonderful productions with full audience. You may have seen on Facebook we are already having music at noon for my block outside my house in a socially distanced environment. We are Keeping the Music Alive. and our motto has never been more important keep the music alive. So we have no production costs but there are costs to keep the structure repertory opera company alive. things like post office box and answering service and website. storage for a beautiful costume collection. certain memberships on Adobe and music subscriptions and things like that. so we are having a fundraiser. it's fairly modest to get to the fall we'd like to reach $3000. We have a program where you can adopt a bill. would you like to help pay for the costume storage. would you like to help pay for our website. The costs range from less than $10 to our storage unit which is $125. So any amount is helpful and we hope to see you in the concert Hall very soon. (I have been avoiding doing this but got the mental kick in the pants just now. In order to get it done and not put it off any longer I dictated this which is why capitalization and punctuation are freeform.) www.repoperaco.org Keep the Music Alive to donate.
Today we had our first Social Distanced Music at Noon Concert. Or as I like to call it - The Driveway Edition. People are spread out so can't get people in a single shot, but a good time was had by all. Four neighbors came out to their yards for the music. Patrons brought their own chairs or stood. Michal Dawson Connor sang and Erle Saunders played. LizBeth brought some folk tunes.
