Dear Friends - shipping restrictions in India are starting to relax. Just getting word from makers in Delhi and Calcutta that they will be allowed to send instruments in the next week. So I will have shruti boxes again, and a handful of Signature 23 Pro and 4B Pro models arriving soon. In the last few weeks, international shipping rates have risen sharply due to infrequent flights - but in this time of crisis, I do not plan to raise prices. While sheltering at home, having all my favorite guitars around and playing hours a day, makes my heart so much lighter, much less oppressed by this isolation. I feel blessed to still have a livelihood and a smaller profit is far outweighed by the knowledge that people will have affordable instruments to make music with in this difficult time.

During the super-strict lock-down in India nothing has been allowed to ship out. I have a ton of harmoniums sitting in a warehouse waiting to go. In the meantime, I've been quickly running out of stock. It's looking like new shipments will begin to leave India very soon. To that end - I have purchased an industrial-strength UV wand (you have to wear long sleeves and heavy-duty amber eye protection when using it) to sanitize all surfaces of the new instruments when they arrive.

Coming Soon! The Mota Baccha (Fatt Baby) Mini harmoniums made exclusively for Keshav Music Imports. These will have a much bigger sound and lots more sustain than the Paloma Shyamdas I used to sell. And for hundreds of dollars less money! I introduced the Shyamdas years ago in the USA and they were very popular - but they became super expensive (due to the greed of the maker) and in truth - had a small sound and disappointing sustain compared to full-sized harmoniums. The Fatt Baby Mini is very simple and basic with no k**bs or stops which are actually one of the worst sourcea of air leaks in harmoniums. . . making the Fatt Baby Mini harmonium more air-tight and more reliable. With shruti boxes becoming so popular - I have lately been getting calls from folks who've purchased them online only to find the shruti box they've purchased has buzzing notes, or is not properly tuned - or not A-440 as advertised. People are learning the hard way that sites not run by musicians don't have a clue about tuning or preparation of these instruments. No shruti box comes from India tuned to A-440 no matter how much they tell you it will. All my shruti boxes are fine tuned by me. A-440 is an extra charge - but if you need it - I can do it - and do it right. I want to express gratitude to all the folks who sent kind wishes while I was recuperating from surgery and waited till now to place orders. In this world of instant gratification, it's good to know that there's a segment of people out there willing to wait for the real thing.
