Attention players who intend to cast the one day, as well as new cast and those who do not regularly attend cast meetings. An event has been created on discord to prepare you for the one day, and to allow you to select some roles to take on. You can still stop by and cast for us on the 8th without attending this meeting, but we figured our players might want to prepare, and take on some of our more interesting roleplay roles!

Discord is great for playing games and chilling with friends, or even building a worldwide community. Customize your own space to talk, play, and hang out.

Hello everyone! Hope you have all had a great holiday season, and a bit of a break!

This Saturday is our next Craft Day, from 10am to 6pm. We will be meeting at the Lowell Maker Space, and working on some warm winter layers for the one day (and beyond!).

We will be doing some cloaks and tabards, so nothing too complicated. If you have sewing experiance (or a sewing machine to bring), great! If not, don't worry, you'll get plenty of directions and help.

We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season and is having an enjoyable Winter. We recently received a message from some of our Unseeli Fae friends that we wanted to pass along:

"Hey everyone,
It's about a month till the 2025 Frost Moon Feast, and Mythical Journeys has sponsored the high table.

It's a night to see friends and eat a lot of good food while you spend a few hours in a castle and chat with the winter Fae. Our cast is made up of some great actors, a few of them MJ players and cast alike, and there is plenty of drama to RP all evening.

There are also a handful of pretty cool vendors.

Our Fall 1 Event is happening 8/23 - 8/25, which is just around the corner.

If you are registered for the event (or plan to register), please take some time THIS WEEK to enter your character into the character builder on the website. Player access to the character builder for Fall 1 closes on Friday 8/16 at 11:59:59pm.

We have exciting news as we head towards our Fall 1 event!

MJ now has a character builder over at the website. It is LIVE and ready for to use RIGHT NOW!

We would like to give a huge thank you to our web development team (Rob J, Bill M, and Rick M) who have spent countless hours getting this system up and running for the benefit of the entire community.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
Active Players: Go to the website and build your character! Your Point Cap should be accurate, and CP refunded for your use.

New Players: Go to the website, create an account, read the rulebook, and then build your character!

We have put a helpful "Character Guide" which can be found on the new site here:https://mjlarp.com/pdf/character_builder_guide.pdf

If you have any issues, please double-check the guide. Help Requests (of type Character - Builder Assistance) are the preferred method of support vs. forum posts, or the discord, so if you get to a point where you have questions, or issues, please file a Help Request.

As we get closer to Fall 1, we want to follow up with folks who may need assistance getting their characters completed.

"It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear friend and fellow adventurer, Ricky Bowlen. Known to many as LEE, The Steward, and through his various memorable roles, Ricky was a cornerstone of our Mythical Journeys community. His contributions, especially in helping to close out MJ2's storyline, were immeasurable. We will miss his presence, creativity, and spirit deeply.

Ricky's impact on our LARP family went far beyond the characters he played. He was a friend, a huge and friendly personality, and an inspiration to many. As we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments he brought to our shared adventures.

We invite all who knew Ricky to join in honoring his memory:

Visitation: Friday, June 28, 2024, from 4 PM to 6 PM
Location: Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton New Hampshire
A service will follow immediately at the funeral home.

Hey all!

This Friday is our Spring 1 event!

Here is your reminder that we always appreciate any and all help you're willing to give for set up and clean up.

We can bribe you! Beyond the fun camaraderie of working with your friends to do a good thing, and getting to wander around the site without fear of being eaten by fiends.

For Set-up:

Setup begins as close to noon on Friday as possible. As much as we appreciate that you may be super eager to help- Please do not arrive earlier than noon (12:00 pm).

We will be offering 10 UP per hour of work; please be sure to check in and out with us.

When you arrive on-site, please check in at the Plot Center and see Sabrina or Jeff to see where you can best be used at that time.

For Clean up:

We are looking to shift to a new system for assigning clean-up tasks (some dirty tasks will have point bonuses). We will be rewarding a base 10 UP per hour for clean-up.

Sarah Marshall will be leading our Clean-Up process and passing out assignments.

We break for food around 3:00pm, and there is a bonus reward for folks who stay until this point, and then a final larger bonus for folks who make it until we are finished.

Thanks to everyone able to help out even a little bit. We can't make this game happen without you.

Evening all!

First, we're excited about this coming spring event and wanted to thank all of you who have offered to help in a variety of different ways. Everyone on cast has been thrilled with the community's generosity and excitement as we move into a new Spring Season.

One of those projects was our community Discord, which Spencer painstakingly organized and setup. It will be here we post announcements, pin resources, and answer rules questions. It will also be here you can join already created organizations, faiths, or just local chatter. Private groups can be made after spring 1 and feedback requests about the server, it's code, or anything else, after spring 2.

Please have some patience with the role assignments, as it's a front load but well worth the effort.

Help requests and UP purchases stay on the website and any announcements or rules updates will be made on both media for a time.

An update from us as we look forward towards the Spring events:

As we embark on a new season, transparency and communication will pave our roadmap ahead. Our recent Cast In Person meeting yielded constructive feedback (on our community feedback) and action items to improve our collective experience. We have these meetings once a season and adjust our larger priorities and come up with action items to implement to achieve those priorities.

A code of conduct is in development, upholding values of inclusion and safety for all. This started for our internal Cast Discord but it will ALSO extend to our budding Player Discord server - a new hub for community bonding. More on that coming in the near future.

We are looking to establish a content and information driven website in the near future, hopefully by the end of March. This site will feature information about Mythical Journeys, our rules, community links, event dates, and other forms of community content to help generate excitement and promote our events. At the outset this site will not have a character builder; while it is still a goal we aim for, we realized we need to re-establish a modern online presence.

We have a number of packets entering the final formatting stage, where we are being assisted by Scott G. We appreciate him taking the time to help us get these packets release ready. We hope to have them out before the first Spring event, and will release the content of those packets if we have not achieved the final polish on them before then.

We appreciate all who have offered to assist us in a variety of ways in bringing MJ to life. Our team is brainstorming ways on how best to honor the community's time and talents - whether flavorful forms in packets or absorbing in-game stories. For example, the aforementioned packet formating by Scott, and Kirk F. for the striking guild logos you may have seen in game! If you have any talents you would like to offer up to help breath life into our shared world, please reach out to us at [email protected].

Keep an eye out as we will be soliciting creative content for the website as that develops.

Additionally we are going to have a major focus behind the scenes on fostering a more welcoming environment for our cast. This will involve more cast training opportunities during and between events and developing coordinator roles to help our volunteers find their place with our team.
