✨ Alix and I had THE most magical time at The Whimsy Ball last night at the Zenner House in Athens 🩵
From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a storybook. We spent the evening exploring the beautiful grounds, admiring the stunning artwork, and taking in all of the incredible architecture that makes the estate so special. Every corner seemed to have its own little bit of magic and whimsy waiting to be discovered.
Between the enchanting atmosphere, the creative details, and the wonderful people, it was truly a night to remember. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to experience such a unique and unforgettable event. ✨🏰🌙

We held our first ever class in our upstairs space! It's still not fully complete, but it was so nice to have a group in there. Even without all the amenities it went so smoothly.

It was an awesome group of five for our Kandinsky paint and sip, and I think everybody had a nice time 🥰

Can't wait to do it again! Next time, we will have our own bathroom! 💚💚💚

Tomorrow night at Gallery 14, we’re throwing color around like Kandinsky threw realism out the window. Join us for an evening of Paint & Sip fun inspired by the dreamy, colorful landscapes of Wassily Kandinsky!

Fun fact: Kandinsky believed colors had personalities and even thought paintings could feel like music. So if your painting starts looking like jazz… you’re probably doing it right. 🎷🎨

Another fun fact: Kandinsky is often called one of the pioneers of abstract art — basically, he made it socially acceptable to paint what your brain feels instead of what your eyes see. We support that energy.

Sign up now for our Color Me Kandinsky: May Paint & Sip!

I've been doing a lot with Kandinsky's style over the last month. I already taught this class up in Athens and used this formula during private lessons, and both times it went very well. Kandinsky's style is loose and fun- it feels like you're building the image out of brush strokes rather than "painting" it. We work in two or three layers using a restricted color pallet for each layer to make the magic happen.

We will be looking at some of Kandinsky's work as a reference, but making our own original compositions. You are welcome to bring a photograph for inspiration, or simply work from your imagination.

Images included here are the works in progress from my private lesson students and I working through "Munich-Schwabing with the Church of St. Ursula" by Wassily Kandinsky, 1908. I love these progress photos because they give a clear look at the process we will be using.

Experimenting with this technique as much as I have over the last few weeks has been illuminating. I'm excited to share it with a new group! Get tickets now!
