I apologize for not posting earlier but it seems like there's oodles of time and then there is not and KSB is here!
Susan White is our gal who creates and posts pretty much all of the media info here on Facebook. Check out our page to see what all is going to take place.
I do want to tell you we have concession spots open as well as vendors. We will only allow so many. John and Sara Hawk will be Co-Chairs for the food trailers and various vendors. We always seem to run light on various vendors. Contact me, Brenda Roush by text to 740.591.0530 ....here on our FB page or John and Sara Hawk. I will be adding John and Sara's contact info soon.
Friday night kicks off at 4 pm with the New Haven Road Angels hosting a cruise in beginning at 4 pm to 8 pm on the mid and lower parking areas. Rockin' Reggie will be rockin' with the drivers and car enthusiasts from 4 pm to 8 pm....Prizes, trophies and 50/50 available. I've put my request in for beautiful weather.
Rockin' Reggie will be back Saturday doing dance contests and keeping everyone informed with what's going and announcing our wonderful sponsors.
Sheri Steele, will be the "gal in the know" for all of the activities and keeping our DJ informed. You can always find Sherri on the upper stage with Rockin' Reggie.
Brent Patterson, Chair, for evening entertainment, promises great music from 6 pm to 11 pm Friday evening and 7 pm to 11pm Saturday.
Saturday is give back to our community Kids' Day. It all begins at noon. We have added the Kids' Tractor Pull, the Pretty Miss and Mr. contest for 2 age categories.....
more info to come.
I'm hoping Ami Thompson and Danny Terzopplous can Co-Chair either an "Anything That Floats" race, Kayak/Canoe races or even a jet ski race....more info to come....
I've never understood why we have so few boats in the Lighted Boat Parade. Sherri Steele will Chair this event and hope to get more people involved. Prize money for the winners....
Wolfe Mountain will have a special surprise for the kids with a treasure hunt and some of their favorite and Disney friends to visit with.....more info to come.
We've added an extra pool this year because, I was told by reliable sources, last year it was sooo hot
the parents and grammys were in the pool with the kids. I missed that fun. Hence....two pools! We have inflatables and a wet slide coming too. These will be available from 2 pm to 8 pm.
Michelle Musser, my fantastic friend and very talented painter, will be there to light up the kids eyes and smiles with anything they would like painted on their face. Michele does not disappoint
and is amazing at creating what the kids want.
Beth McClure is KSB Kids' Events Chair. She's working on some pretty fun games, relays etc. The treasure hunt is a favorite thing for the kids. Coins will be buried in the sand donated by Forest Run Ready Mix. There will be 2 separate piles for the little ones to hunt for coins and then carry them down to the canopy and exchange them for real money.....25 cents to 1 dollar per coin.
My favorite thing of all is getting to shop from the end of summer when things go on sale thru Christmas for our fantastic give away. I have so many totes full of fun things for the kids. I love it when they stroll by and check out what they hope to pick and it's even better to see them walk away with their choices. The kids must be present to pick a gift.
Everything is free! There is no charge for the events. We are able to do this year after year because our businesses and organizations care and do their part in helping the KSB event take place to Kickin' (kick-in) the Summer.
We hope you'll come and bring your little ones to the Kickin' Summer Bash. I've put my request in for beautiful weather.
