The Moth in The Moon ver. 2
People often ask me why I love the Mothman so.
The Mothman and I have an old relationship. I heard of him at an early age because of a 2002 folk song by Tom Hallenback, called Hymn to the Mothman. Obviously, at the time, I had no idea that this particular legend would be the driving force behind where I am in my life right now. I attended my first Mothman Fest in 2018 and I’ve been a part of the Cryptid Community ever since: attending, vending, and running events all over Appalachia (and beyond), and it’s been such a blessing to be in this little niche. The collection of memories I’ve made over the years are some of my most prized possessions.
I recently lost a lot of that footing because of some rather detrimental lies that were thrown around in an attempt to sabotage my career. And for a community so heavily based on speculation, I was surprised that the part of the Cryptid community that was once my family jumped to awful, ugly conclusions without ever consulting the source. It was so painfully frustrating at the time, and embarrassing to think that these were people I relied on, but I’ve leaned to let go of people who clearly were never to bat for me to begin with. It makes me sad whenever I think about it, but I try to remember the good times I had with them, and I’m still blessed by that.
Anyways, this wasn’t going to be a rant post when I opened my phone to make this. It just kinda all came out. In conclusion, I love the Mothman because, through him, I got to meet all of you. You are all the reason I continue to keep going. I look forward to many more years in the cryptid community, with or without what folks think. Love you guys 🖤✨

I recently added a bit of spit shine to this design, cleaning up a few little details and doing some color correcting. I’m thinking I might made it into a circular sticker or something one of these days.
