We honor the life and service of former ISU Campus Recreation Director, Douglas J. Milder. At age 64, Doug passed away peacefully at his home on November 2, 2022 following a year long battle with aggressive, non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Doug spent close to three decades at Idaho State fiercely defending and supporting recreational opportunities for every student. The ISU and Pocatello communities owe Doug thanks for his part in getting the Student Recreation Center built in 2010.

YOU WILL BE MISSED, DOUG!

A fan of anonymous, random acts of kindness, it would mean a great deal to Doug knowing that this tradition continues through the actions of his many friends and family. If so inclined, monetary donations may be made to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society.

In keeping with his altruistic nature, Doug has gifted his body to The University of Utah's Anatomical Body Donation's Program. A memorial mass will be offered on Thursday, November 10th at 4:30 PM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. A Celebration of Life will follow at The Union Tap Room in Old Town from 6:00- 8:00 PM.

Martin Luther King Jr. Way (East Terry) from 8th Ave to 15th Ave will be closed Saturday, April 23 for Bengal Visit Day and the Bengal Triathlon.

Expect high traffic volumes, and be on the lookout for pedestrians, spectators, cyclists, and runners. Between the two events, more than 3,000 people are expected to be on Campus.

To park at the SUB, take East Carter to 4th Ave to East Humboldt. Consider parking at Holt to get to Reed Gym. PRT buses will be running to transport spectators to lower campus and back during the day.

Events should be wrapping up by the afternoon.
