There are certain full-circle moments in life that leave you filled with pride and excitement for the future.

Diana Cabell has always brought talent, personality, humor, and heart into every room she entered. BAL audiences will never forget her iconic portrayal of Mrs. Tottendale in The Drowsy Chaperone (yes… the legendary spit take 😂), or her raw and deeply moving performance as Sheila in A Chorus Line.

After heading off to study theater and film at AMDA on the east and west coast, we were thrilled to welcome her back this year as a director, teacher, and choreographer — and she jumped in wholeheartedly wherever she was needed.

This year Diana:

✨ Choreographed Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr. at The Woodward School
✨ Choreographed High School Musical at The Inly School

And somehow, in the middle of all of that, she still found time to perform as the Sour Kangaroo in The Inly Players production of Seussical — delivering one of those performances we’ll be talking about for years to come. 💚

Watching Diana pour herself into every student she encountered this year — with joy, professionalism, curiosity, and a true passion for growth — has been incredibly meaningful to witness.

Her support also allowed Kyle and Healy to spend a little more time with their families this year, something that meant more than words can express.

Diana, thank you for the energy, care, creativity, and leadership you brought to Break a Leg Theater Works this season. Your influence on our students and our community has been extraordinary, and we are so lucky to have you as part of the BAL family. ❤️

✨🗽 TAP, TONY NOMINATIONS & BROADWAY MAGIC! 🗽✨

Break a Leg Theater Works had an incredible time at our 42ND STREET Tap Clinics this weekend! Our students worked so hard, brought amazing energy into the room, and had an absolute blast diving into authentic Broadway choreography. 💥👞

A huge shoutout to the phenomenal Emma Christine Murphy, who did an outstanding job teaching and leading the clinics with patience, passion, and true Broadway spirit. Our students were completely blown away watching our choreographer Richard Riaz Yoder demonstrate the choreography on film — inspiring everyone to push themselves to the next level! 🎬✨

And we are THRILLED to congratulate Richard and the company of Schmigadoon! on their incredible 12 Tony Award nominations, including BEST MUSICAL! 🏆👏 We cannot wait to cheer him on during the Tony Awards and then welcome him back to work with our students IN PERSON beginning June 29th! 🌟
