AUDITIONS for the fall play will be Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept 7 and 8 at 7pm in The Bradley. It's an original play about a group of college theatre majors and is called "No Power Tools." Lakeland Theatre director Charlie Krebs wrote the play over the last 5 years and this will be its world premier.

No experience is necessary to audition and we will provide materials to read at the auditions. The play explores the romantic and professional pursuits of 8 students who are pursuing a career in theatre. Email Charlie if you have any questions at [email protected].

Lakeland Theatre will be doing two shows next year--back to normal. The fall play will be "No Power Tools," an original play written by our director Charlie Krebs about a group of undergraduate theatre majors who learn lessons about what really matters in life. (November 11-14)

The spring musical will be "Once Upon a Mattress," a big musical based on the story of the Princess and the pea. (March 31-April3)

The play for the fall has been cancelled but, because of not being able to do two shows, I decided to delay my retirement by a year. So, next Spring (2021) the musical will be "The Fantasticks" (we'll pick up where we left off). In the Fall of 2021, we'll do "No Power Tools," the play I'm writing. And in the Spring of 2022, we'll do "Once Upon a Mattress." Should be fun.

Charlie Krebs..... Happy Birthday! In light of everything that is going on I pray you have a fantastick day and I am so glad we surprised you with early birthday wishes! None of us knew then what was in store for us now. I am glad we got to surprise you then! Lots of good wishes are coming your way! Praying for everyone's safety!

For obvious reasons, The Fantasticks has been cancelled. While sad, it's not unexpected. I'm sorry our students won't have the opportunity to shine for you all. This was going to be a great show but alas...

I've been working on writing our fall play for a few years now. It's called "No Power Tools" and is based on my last year as a techincal theatre major at the State University of NY at Fredonia.

And our spring musical next year (my last production--I'll be retiring) will be "Once Upon a Mattress." Thank you all for your support and stay safe.
