I grew up with a yellow kitchen so there’s lots of nostalgic feels for me in this group of paintings. Especially Mrs. Butterworth’s. That bottle and the wallpaper behind it just feel like home.

Do I wear fancy shoes? No. (Aside from those cute Converse sneakers)

Are my shoe paintings big sellers? Also no.

And yet, I keep painting them. 😂

If I can’t wear them on my feet I can at least hang them on my wall. And you can too!

It’s National Book Lover’s Day!! 📕 😍 I’m an avid reader but books can be great painting props too!

There's a couple prints left of "Cherries on Top" available on the website.

Does anybody use their Pyrex "fridgies"? I think they are adorable but I'm afraid of breaking mine when we r***e through our refrigerator. Mine stay in the cupboard and get used for special events...usually a painting. 😆 I feel like they aren't living their best life though!

This shoe is just the cutest! I can totally see my Grandma wearing these in the 1940s with a sharp little suit and a hat. I paired it up with the book "Summer at Tiffany" which is a memoir of two best friends who landed summer jobs at Tiffany & Co. in the 40s. It's a fun read! And those pearls...they are actually from my wedding. They were new at the time (in 1989) however they are officially "vintage" now. (Anything 20 years and older is considered vintage!) Yikes! 🫢 And finally, there's me, trying to pretend like I belong at Tiffany. 😆

"Tiffany Blue"

8x8" original acrylic on wood cradled panel, no framing needed but I do have options

Who’s a fan of orange? 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️ I never used to be, maybe because it was my school’s color and everything seemed to be orange. I can appreciate it more though, especially when it’s got a retro vibe. 🧡

"Orange Slice of Heaven" is now available as an 8x8" print!

I've always been a fan of the orange & blue color combo and that umbrella brought to mind those juicy orange slice candies. Do they still make those? 🤷‍♀️

The only thing missing for me in this beach scenario is a beverage and a book! 🍹📖

You can find this print on my website under the "Prints" tab (on a mobile device you have to pull down the menu and find the "Prints" tab there.)

This summer has been too crazy busy to get much painting done but I did manage to restock some of my prints. This one, called "Let it Percolate" was a fun (surprisingly) exercise in painting reflections. Plus, it's just such a cute vintage percolator! Who wouldn't want one of those in their kitchen?

You can find these by clicking on the "prints" tab at the top of my website or ,if you are on a mobile device, click on the pull down menu and find "prints" there.

I always have a story in mind when I'm setting up my still life reference and then while painting it . I definitely have a story in mind when I'm coming up with a title! This one- "I'll Bring Dessert" is pretty self explanatory but sometimes they are a little tongue-in-cheek or might even make you wonder what the heck I was thinking about?!? 😆

The subject of this painting was invited to a dinner and knew right away that she was bringing the Sour Cream Chocolate Cake from page 7 of the dessert chapter. And there's a few chocolate dribbles on the page to prove it!

What's also fun about this cookbook is it's stuffed with clipped recipes too!
