Woo, hoo! Our pomegranate vase and pasta bowl have arrived from Earth and Water studio in Thira, Greece. It was such a joy learning to make these pieces with master potter Andreas, meet his team, sip wine with his vinter neighbor, and snack with a couple of other travelers who happened into the studio. Slow travel experiences, off the beaten path, make travel extra rich. Andreas, an excellent teacher, made sure that our projects were successful. While these weren't our first ceramic projects ever, they definitely represent a leap in competency. Lovely! Thank you, Andreas and Kristi!

I have been accepted as a new member of the San Francisco Women Artists Gallery. The venerable institution has a storied history, Kahlo's first public showing was with the gallery, and I am honored to be welcomed in. Yesterday I attended orientation with a few other newbies. I am truly pleased to join up with an organization that is mature enough (150 yrs) to have managed systems and processes and, most importantly, a receiving ground for new members. Hospitality inspires me. I am looking forward to the possibilities.

The latest session of my HeARTsy Junk Journal class was too much fun. Here are just a few of the beautiful books and pages that participants made.

In this class I teach a simple method for taming errant ephemera, unlock the secrets of the color wheel, discuss the pros and cons of different adhesives, and provide beginner layouts for capturing inspiration with collage, mark-making, and script.

In short, we purposefully set the table for organized chaos and let it rip! Register now for the next one in July. Thank you,
for designing a welcoming place for creative gathering. The hospitality provided is genuine.

As a bonus, this group held for me a surprise reunion with one of my former sewing/design students, a current friend, and new friends. Someone mentioned community within the first 5 minutes and was real. Thank you to all who attended!
