Pleasant Valley, we have a very merry update for you! Due to the extra chilly weather coming our way, we’re moving our Festival of Lights after-celebration indoors to Town Hall so everyone can stay cozy and enjoy the fun! ❄️❤️

Right after the parade wraps up, head on over to Town Hall for:

🎅📸 Pictures with Santa & Mrs. Claus
💚😈 A visit from The Grinch
☕️ FREE hot cocoa for everyone
🎁 Goodie bags for the kiddos — while supplies last!

🎄 PLEASANT VALLEY FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS PARADE – KNOW BEFORE YOU GO! 🎄

Today’s the day!!!! The Town of Pleasant Valley’s Festival of Lights Holiday Parade! The magic begins at 6:45 PM as the parade kicks off on North Ave and makes its way to Town Hall. To keep everything merry and safe, please read the important info below:

🚧 ROAD CLOSURES & DETOURS
Route 44 & Main Street, North Ave, and the surrounding connecting roads will close at approximately 6:15 PM. Plan ahead!

🚫 NO PARKING
There is NO PARKING along Main Street or North Ave. Absolutely none.

🚓 PARKING INFO
You may park in open lots along the parade route.
BUT—once parked, your vehicle must remain there until the parade is finished and security reopens the lot.
No exceptions.

🚶‍♂️ SIDEWALK SAFETY
Sidewalks are for pedestrians only.
No vehicles may drive on, cross over, or exit across sidewalks before or after the parade.

✨ FLOAT & WALKER LINEUP ✨
Lineup is FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE.

📍 Location: North Ave between Sherow Road & Martin Road
You will receive your entry number at check-in.

➡️ Northbound lane: Float lineup
➡️ Southbound lane: Must remain open for emergency vehicles only
Please do NOT block this lane.

🚫 Floats may NOT block driveways or roads during lineup.

🔥 6:45 PM SHARP — The Pleasant Valley House & Firetruck sirens will sound to kick off the parade!

🛣️ PARADE ROUTE
North Ave → Left onto Quaker Hill Road → Right onto Main Street
Floats will travel extra slow through Main Street for everyone to enjoy the lights! Parade will end at Town Hall!

⚠️ Low-Boy Floats:
You may be directed not to turn onto Quaker Hill if your vehicle cannot safely make the turn.
In that case, continue straight on North Ave and turn right onto Main Street.
Please follow all instructions from DC Sheriffs or Pleasant Valley Fire Police.

🚫 TOWN HALL PARKING LOT CLOSED TO VEHICLES
The only exception is quick pedestrian drop-off by floats in front of Town Hall.
After drop-off, floats must continue Route 44 toward Poughkeepsie.

🚗 Public Parking:
Cars may park in the Cady Field lot.

🚨 Parade Road Closure Notice 🚨

The Pleasant Valley Festival of Lights Parade is this Saturday, December 6th!

Please note: Route 44 and adjoining roads will be closed from South Avenue to Timothy Heights between 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM.

Plan ahead and drive safely!

Alright everyone… we hate to be “those people,” but the lawyers, the safety folks, and probably Santa’s HR department said we have to post the rules. 😅
So here we go — buckle up:

📌 SOME ADDITIONAL PARADE RULES
(aka: things we wish we didn’t have to say… but here we are!)

1️⃣ No candy throwing from floats.
Trust us, nothing says “unpleasant valley” like a rogue lollipop to the eyeball. Hand it out by foot only!

2️⃣ No getting on or off moving vehicles.
We know you’re athletic. We know you could jump off a float like an action movie star… but please don’t. 😂

3️⃣ No stopping in the parade line unless instructed.
This is a parade, not Route 44 traffic at 5pm. Keep it moving, folks! 🫣

4️⃣ Children must be supervised.
Yes, even the “very responsible” ones who swear they’re basically adults.

5️⃣ Drivers MUST stay with their vehicles.
It’s a parade, not a parking lot. Don’t wander off for hot cocoa, we beg you.

6️⃣ Be respectful, be festive, be fun.
This is Pleasant Valley — key word: pleasant. 😄
