ok!!!!!!! LOVE the way these turned out and LOVE how proud the kids were of the final projects. Experienced a few bumps along the way…like what glue to use??? Tricky when you have to move the halfway completed projects and can’t just let them dry. But, what project doesn’t experience bumps along the way?! Maybe that is where the real learning lies. We used paper plates, random little treasures (don’t use marbles …ugh) glue dots, hot glue, low odor spray paint, paint sticks and air dry clay. These kids were ENGAGED!!!!!

You Guys! As you know we are no longer in our physical studio and something we miss is our maker’s table! If you know, you know! Kids and adults loved the freedom to just create with random materials and traditional art tools. It was where the magic happened!
So are we thrilled to be collaborating with Thought Balloon Art Studio here in Pleasant Hill to recreate some of that Maker’s Table magic! Only $10 per creator!

So, this doll represents a lot of heart and hard work. This artist plugged along, self motivated, for 5 days straight. This was a major challenge but the perseverance and calm positive attitude was something to behold!!! A very sweet friendship was formed between this young artist and older girl next to her. The older girl would help out in little ways totally unprompted. Sometimes when the adults take a step back, real magic happens💕

Ever wonder what our afternoons at the Pleasant Hill library look like? Looks like kids and adults in the flow, happily creating together! We get a lot of donations from the community (see fake eggs and lemons in the later pics) and sometimes we just throw all of these “treasures” onto a table, stand back, and watch the creativity ignite! It is safe to say that Wednesdays at the library are both Abby and my (Amy) favorite day of the week. Thank you and the people of P Hill!
