Make sure to go visit our neighbors to the north this week for the Western Illinois Fair.
Happy Western Illinois Fair week, friends! With Pike County 4-H shows beginning on Tuesday, and fair events beginning Wednesday, we can’t wait to see you this week at the Western Illinois Fairgrounds. Let’s go over some housekeeping items for your visit:
• In the event of inclement weather/changes to the schedule, our social media channels will be the FIRST place to look for information. If you haven’t seen a change posted to our Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter accounts, it means we’re running as planned.
• Carnival rides are height-based. If a child is age 5 or under, but still tall enough to get onto a carnival ride, there is no cost for them to be on that ride.
• We are a cash-only front gate. Some food and drink vendors may accept debit/credit cards, but most of the grounds is cash-only. Ages 5 and under are admitted free to the fair.
• Purchasing alcohol in the infield is also a cash-only purchase. Alcohol is only allowed within the fenced area in the infield. Alcohol is not permitted anywhere else within the grounds, most notably the grandstands.
• Smoking is not permitted in the grandstand seating.
• Parking is free in the infield grounds, as space allows. Please maintain a slow speed while in the infield.
• If parking outside of the fairgrounds, please be respectful of yards and properties you may park by. Fairgoers should not park in the nearby Dollar General store. Parking is also not allowed in the Griggsville City Park.
• Never been to the fairgrounds before? Just search “Western Illinois Fair” in Apple Maps or Google Maps. We’re in there for your navigation.
We can’t wait for the week ahead here at the Western Illinois Fair!
