After a six-year hiatus, the Pleasant Hill Chamber of Commerce proudly brought back our Business Person of the Year Award — and we couldn’t think of a more deserving person.

🏆 Congratulations to Angela Kalinowski, owner of WiseGirl Restaurant and Back Forty Texas BBQ Roadhouse & Saloon, our 2026 Business Person of the Year!
Angela’s impact on Pleasant Hill goes far beyond her restaurants. She continually supports local nonprofits, businesses, community events and fellow business owners — always willing to show up, lend a hand and give back to the community she calls home. ❤️
Her recognition was especially meaningful as the Chamber restored this tradition for the first time since 2020.

We also celebrated the installation of three new Board members:

This week, we're shining the spotlight on Youth Homes Thrift Shop, a valued member of the Pleasant Hill Chamber of Commerce!
📍 About Them: ✨ What Makes Them Special
Youth Homes Thrift Shop is our special corner of Pleasant Hill where our community can join us to feel closer to the goodness of Youth Homes. So much is poured into this shop - the dedication of our team, the hard work of our volunteer groups, and the abundant donations that keep our racks full. In return, the shop gives back immensely, serving as a space where our clients feel like they belong, shop for free, and gain valuable work experience. Our shoppers discover their favorite pre-loved treasures for incredible prices - all while generating revenue that directly supports our mental health services for at-risk youth and their families.
✨ Youth Homes Thrift Shop has two exciting events coming soon! ✨
Step It Up for Youth weekend kicks off on Friday, August 21st celebrating our annual back to school shoe drive for our youth. Join us in the shop that entire weekend for special deals, activities, and info about how our shop changes the lives of local young people.
