Ruth and Naomi’s story is one of the most beautiful journeys in scripture—from crushing loss to unexpected joy.

Two widows. No security. No clear future. Just grief, uncertainty, and a long road back to Bethlehem.

Yet Ruth chose faith over fear: “Whither thou goest, I will go” (Ruth 1:16).

What she couldn’t see was that God was already writing a greater story. He took a foreign widow with nothing but heartbreak and grit and placed her in the very bloodline of Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:5).

Their story reminds us that our darkest chapters are not the end. God can transform despair into hope, mourning into joy, barrenness into fruitfulness, and broken dreams into blessings beyond anything we can imagine.

Two summers ago, my husband suddenly lost a job he had poured his heart and soul into. We wondered what would come next. How would he find another position in an industry that seemed to be changing so rapidly?

But God had a plan.

What felt like a devastating setback became an unexpected blessing. Our move to the Middle East has opened doors we never imagined and brought experiences, friendships, and opportunities that have enriched our lives in countless ways.

If you’re walking a difficult road today, remember Ruth and Naomi. The God who turned their sorrow into joy is still writing stories of redemption today—including yours. ❤️

Naomi and Ruth remind us that some of life’s greatest blessings are the friends who stay by our side through seasons of sorrow, uncertainty, and change.

Ruth’s simple promise, “Whither thou goest, I will go,” is one of the most beautiful examples of loyalty and love in scripture. Their friendship teaches us the power of showing up, standing together, and helping each other find hope when life feels empty.

Have you read Rahab’s story? She’s my new favorite ❤️ Her story reminds me that God meets us where we are. Many saw a harlot and a pagan woman, but God saw something entirely different. He saw faith. He saw courage. He saw obedience. He saw a woman with infinite potential and a place in His greater story.

Rahab chose faith when it required incredible bravery. And this is not the last we hear of her story. In Matthew 1, we discover that she becomes one of the grandmothers of Jesus. She marries Salmon, the son of Nahshon, leader of the tribe of Judah. She is also remembered among the great Faith Champions in Hebrews 11 and again in James.

I love that God doesn’t define us by where we begin. He sees what we can become. He sees what we have to offer His kingdom and the world.

This painting of Rahab is a reminder to me that faith can change everything. 🤍

Celebrating 80 years of our amazing Mom 🌸🌷
So grateful for a morning filled with laughter, stories, and so much love. It meant the world to have all my kids and siblings together to celebrate the woman who made our family what it is. Happy 80th birthday to the very best Mom, Grandma, cheerleader, and example to us all. ✨
