I keep seeing people say, “Don’t go to Claire’s. Why would you want a 16-year-old piercing your child’s ears?”

And while I understand the concern, I think the better question is for any professional piercing service is:

How long has this person been piercing children, and how much piercing experience do they actually have?

Because at this point, age alone does not tell you who is safe.

There are young piercers who are trained, mentored, supervised, and educated.

And there are grown adults calling themselves piercers with no training and no business piercing anyone.

The red flag isn’t age.

The red flag is lack of training in an industry where standards can be completely ignored with zero accountability.

Edit: We don’t support Claire’s no matter what age the piercer is😉

Swapped this helix out from a cheap nostril hoop to one of our niobium black clickers.

The pics don't do justice to how shiny these are! Most black jewelry out there is PVD coated. Pretty, but it's a coating sitting on top, and it can wear, chip, or flake over time.

Black niobium is a real body-safe metal with the color built into the surface, so there's nothing that can chip off in your piercing🩷

We get it. Life is expensive. A $35 piercing special can look really tempting.

But cheap piercings often come with cheap jewelry. Mystery metal, externally threaded pieces, poor fit, and jewelry that was never meant to support a fresh healing piercing.
