Most black body jewelry on the market isnā€™t actually black metal. Itā€™s usually a PVD-coated jewelry, which is a thin plastic coating applied over the surface of the metal. Over time, that coating can wear, scratch, or chip, especially in high-friction areas.

āŒ Cannot be properly heat sterilized
āŒ Use blunt force instead of a sharp sterile needle
āŒ Cause unnecessary trauma and irritation

If your piercer is able to give away jewelry, supplies, and their time for free, Iā€™d be asking some questions about how thatā€™s sustainable first.

A downsize is more than a jewelry change. Itā€™s a checkup for your piercing and adjustment FOR YOU specifically to help you heal successfully.
