About Us
We run a small fiber farm in Plantersville. We raise alpacas and angora goats for their fine fleece. I am a spinner, weaver, knitter and potter. Jim takes care of the heavy lifting and shearing. He also produces one of a kind leather and wood work.
The Local Motion Trading Company was named because of our close proximity to, and love of, the trains that pass by our century-old home. It rings of a time when DIY meant you survived.
We hope to provide that spirit of community and support to local artisans by establishing a place to showcase and sell their works of art.
If you aren’t an artist, don’t worry... we will be happy to share our knowledge with you. Workshops are scheduled on weekdays. Come and see how fun making can be.
