Some stars leave their mark on a stage. Others leave their mark on an entire generation.

Today, we join the world in remembering the incomparable Dolly Parton.

While we never had the privilege of welcoming Dolly to the Florida Strawberry Festival stage, she was certainly an artist we always hoped might one day make her way to Plant City. Through the years, we have been fortunate to welcome many of the legendary artists who shared music, friendships and unforgettable moments with her.

Her songs became part of the soundtrack of American life, but perhaps even greater than her music was the joy, generosity, faith and kindness she shared so freely.

There will never be another Dolly.

Thank you for the music, the laughter and the light. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends and the millions who loved her. 🤍

The 2027 Florida Strawberry Festival Queen's Scholarship Pageant mandatory contestant orientation meetings have been scheduled!

📍Arthur Boring Civic Center, Florida Strawberry Festival grounds

2027 Orientation Dates:
Sunday, September 20 at 3:30 p.m.
Monday, September 21 at 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, September 22 at 5:30 p.m.

Each candidate is only required to attend ONE orientation meeting.

Candidates under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

We do… and hearing those words from
Coach Kirby Smart means more than we can say.

It’s no surprise that someone with deep Plant City roots understands what makes this community so special. For generations, Kirby’s Bakery was one of those places. To hear Coach describe the Florida Strawberry Festival the same way was an honor we’re truly grateful for.

The Festival has always been about more than great entertainment or world-famous strawberry shortcake. It’s about tradition, community, agriculture, and the people who make Plant City feel like home—and we’re incredibly grateful for the kind words and for every visitor who leaves with memories worth sharing.

Thank you for the shoutout, Coach. We’ll save you some shortcake. ❤️🍓
