EDIT- yall are awesome! We are now set with sketchbooks and zipper pouches, thank you all!!!!
Hey friends!
With summer coming up, we’re expecting lots of new faces at TGIC, so this feels like a good time to reintroduce ourselves, share what this group is all about, and welcome anybody thinking about joining us.
We’re Ally and Megan, the socially awkward craft gremlins behind Thank Goodness It’s Craft Night (TGIC).
TGIC was created to be the kind of space we wish we’d had growing up. A place where kids can show up exactly as they are and feel welcome. A lot of our kids are LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, homeschooled, anxious, creative, awkward, hilarious, shy, loud, or somewhere in between, and the goal has always been simple: create a safe and inclusive place to socialize and create.
And just to be clear, we’re not teachers or therapists or professional anything. We’re just two crafty humans who know how important it is to have a space where being “different” is celebrated. And we do this because we love it.
TGIC is less about making perfect art and more about connection, creativity, confidence, and community. Kids help each other. They learn new things. They make weird little projects. They info dump about hyperfixations. Sometimes they sit quietly and exist near other humans who get them. Honestly? That matters a lot.
If you’re new this summer, welcome. We’re really glad you found us. Always feel free to message this page if you have questions.
Check out the pinned posts on this page for our FAQs for info about age ranges, expectations, what to bring etc.
And finally, because summer attendance tends to explode in the best possible way, we’re sharing our Amazon wishlist for anybody who wants to help support the club. TGIC runs entirely on community support, craft supplies, and sheer determination.
Biggest needs right now:
• sketchbooks (every new kids gets one as a gift fron us) we need maybe three boxes from the list for the summer
• zipper pouches (to put the sketchbook and some pencils in)
• pipe cleaners and wax sticks
• heavy duty cardboard hole punch (we have a plan)
• origami and drawing books
• eva craft foam sheets
If you’re cleaning out your craft hobby graveyard and have things you want to donate, please send me a message first so I can let you know if it’s something our crew will use. We’ll take most things, but we do have a lot of some stuff and may not have space for more right now 🙂

Whether you donate, share the post, bring your kiddos, or just cheer us on from afar, thank you for helping us keep this weird little community going. We love what we do, and it’s all of you that help keep this community special!
